part 10 —- six feet under
When YN wakes up the next morning, she doesn't pay attention to how sore she is between her legs, but rather the fact that she is in her living room instead of her bed.
She looks around her empty apartment with a racing heart and heated cheeks. An array of different emotions course through her body at once, the strongest ones being embarrassment and shame. Just as she had promised herself that she would deal with the consequences later, she had stuck to it. She cannot believe that she allowed herself to have sex with her ex-classmate. And it wasn't just regular, no strings attached sex that people have where it solely focuses on physical pleasure, but it was passionate. She can't forget the way he had looked at her, and there was no doubt in her mind that she hadn't looked at him the same way.
She is grateful that he isn't here. She knows that he probably feels the same way, and that's why he dashed out so quickly before she could wake up.
Checking the time on her phone, she realises she is late. It's the least of her worries, but she still makes an effort to get ready as quickly as she can out of respect for Yaga, who had planned on meeting up with her early in the morning.
She washes away his scent from her skin and makes herself presentable as if she didn't do the things that she did last night. She stares at herself in the mirror, relaxing her facial muscles to appear as calm as possible, as she usually does. But she still looks on edge and she sighs in frustration, snatching her bag off the countertop and quickly leaving her apartment.
The first thing she does when she reaches the school is head into Yaga's office, part of her hoping that he will disapprove of her lateness rather than be sympathetic of her as he has seemed to be lately.
Just as she expected, he waves her lateness off and tells her to take all the time that she needs before coming into work.
"What did you need me to do today, Yaga-sensei?"
"Well, it's not really a mission butI want you to join Satoru today while he takes the kids out for their own little mission."
Inside, YN screams. Outside, she doesn't react and speaks gracefully despite wanting to chew his ear off about how she will do anything but that.
"May I ask why you'd like me to shadow in on their mission?"
"I want you to get a feel for what it is like to be a teacher here at the academy. I'm not forcing you to become one, but I think it's a good idea to at least gain a little experience in the field so that you can make a proper decision afterwards. If you are interested, however, there is a new student that I think will really benefit from you."
