So...like hi. Again. The story is getting close to ending. AND THERE'S a big shock at the end! So, until then, I AM YOUR BLUE SPIDER THAT STOCKS YOU AT NIGHT!
"You okay?" Marcus walks over to Mason on the couch and sits down.
"No."
"What?"
"I'm not okay."
"Why not?"
"I'm a freak of nature."
"Ouch."
"Sorry."
Marcus sighs and looks over at Mason. "You're not a freak of nature Mason, you're just...special."
"I don't wanna be special." Mason looks over at Marcus. "I wanna be normal, I wanna be human."
"I don't. Being human is boring. I'd rather be special, be able to help people better than normal humans can," Marcus says. Mason shrugs. Marcus chuckles. "Plus you're like a human bestiary, except better."
Then reality hit Mason like a truck. He shot up and screamed. Marcus was up before Mason even started to panic. He grabbed his arm.
"What's wrong!?" Marcus said alarmed.
Mason started hyperventilating. "Don't you get it!? They're not gonna stop once the book is destroyed!"
"Why not?"
"Because there's still someone out there leaking information!"
"Who?"
"Me! It's me you idiot! I'm the only one of my kind right?!" Mason asks, shaking Marcus.
"Yeah," Marcus said, feeling as panicked as Mason.
"So all they have to do is kill me, and everything will go back to normal!" Marcus thought Mason was insane, but once he ran it over in his head, it all made sense.
"Oh my God," he whispers. "Well they did kidnap you," Marcus pondered.
"Exactly! They're plan is defective." Mason took a deep breath. "It's not going to be resolved until...until..." Mason pauses and stares off into space. Marcus knew exactly what he was thinking.
"Mason, don't."
Mason wrapped Marcus into a huge hug. "Thank you Marcus. For everything," Mason whispered.
Before Marcus could say anything else, Mason ran out the door. "Wait!" Marcus ran into the street but didn't see Mason anywhere. "Dammit!"
Drex's eyes went black and he smiled. He smelled him. Even all the way from here, he could smell him.
He always fancied the smell and the taste of Mason's blood. He remembered that day perfectly. I mean, how could he forget?
"What do you want from me?" Mason asks, chained to the wall of his prison.
Drex had just walked in, looking at the boy. "I'll take it from here." Drex confirmed and the usual guard left, happy to get away. Drex scaled the cell and whistled when he fully saw Mason. "Woah. You look like crap."
Mason scoffed. "Gee thanks," he said sarcastically.
Drex looked down at Mason and saw his deep cuts and bruises. "You're bleeding," he said matter-of-factly.
"I know. I can't un-bleed or heal like you," Mason spat.
Drex squinted and leaned down right in front of Mason's face. "Give me your arm." Mason hesitates before bringing his arm up as much as he could.
