Chapter 12

Old Witch House
[Damon is carrying Elena's body into the parlor room.]
Damon: If you come back as a vampire, I'll stake you myself. So don't.
"You were the one who gave her vampire blood." Said Marcel.
[Damon lays Elena's body down on a sofa and pushes a strand of hair out of her face.]
Damon: Because I can't stand the idea of you hating me forever.
"Who was saying he would rather be hated by her than her death?" Said Bellatrix.
[Alaric and Jeremy rush into the room and stand in the doorway.]
Jeremy: How is she? [Damon continues to stroke Elena's hair and does not look up at either of them.]
Damon: I don't know yet.
Alaric: What about Jenna? [Damon finally looks back at them without saying a word.]
Alaric: No.
Damon: I'm sorry, Jeremy. [Jeremy and Alaric stare blankly at Damon. Behind them, John comes up from the basement and walks out the front door into the yard. Alaric walks away from the doorway and into a secluded area of the house. Outside, John looks back in the house. Suddenly, Elena gasps back to life.]
Damon: Elena!
Elena: What happened?
Damon: How do you feel?
Elena: I feel fine. [Damon and Jeremy both breathe a sigh of relief. John watches the scene unfold from outside. He seems at peace, as he looks out into the woods, he shuts his eyes, and falls to the ground, dead.]
Mystic Falls Cemetery
[Damon is standing some distance away from the Mystic falls gang. Stefan approaches him.]
Stefan: We're going to head back to the house.
Damon: I think I'll skip the coffee and tea cakes.
Stefan: Damon, she needs us right now. All of us.
Damon: And then what's the plan, Stefan? The curse is broken. How does one go about killing an all-powerful wolf vamp and his two-faced older brother?
"Hey! Elijah isn't two-faced. You constantly broke your deals so what if he broke one, too?" Defended Bella. Elijah smiled at her.
Stefan: I have no idea. [Damon turns around to look at Stefan.]
Damon: We need to get an idea. Fast.
Stefan: I'm not going to let Elena lose anybody else.
Damon: I wouldn't make any promises, brother.
Stefan: What's that supposed to mean?
Damon: Tyler Lockwood bit me. [Damon pulls up his sleeve and shows Stefan the bite, which has gotten even worse. Stefan walks over to him with a look of anguish on his face.]
Damon: [looking down at the bite] It's actually more of a nip, really, but there it is. [Stefan takes Damon's arm and examines the bite.]
Stefan: We'll find something. A cure.
Damon: There's no cure, Stefan. [Damon and Stefan look off across the graveyard, presumably towards Elena. Stefan looks back at Damon.]
Stefan: We kept Elena human, right? We found the way when there was no way. Hey. [Damon turns his head and faces Stefan.]
Stefan: I will do this.
Damon: You want to do something for me? Keep this from Elena. Last thing she needs is another grave to mourn. [Damon grips Stefan's shoulder, gingerly, and walks away. Stefan watches him as he leaves, his left hand fidgeting. The look on his face filled with torment.]
Woods
[Klaus wakes up naked in the forest. He looks at the sun and smiles. Someone throws him some clothes. He turns his head. Elijah and Bella are there. Bella is looking away from him.]
Elijah: You've been busy.
Klaus: That was amazing. How long has it been?
Bellatrix: (without turning around) Almost 2 days. Full moon came and went. You remained a wolf. [Klaus gets dressed.]
Klaus: I can change at will, then. It's good to know. I remember every single kill.
Davina looks horriefied.
"Don't worry. He was in forest. Biggest thing he killed was deer." Said Bella. Davina nodded.
Elijah: Yes, I've been cleaning up your little mess along the way.
Klaus: Just like old times, brother.
Elijah: You've had your fun. I believe we have a bargain.
Klaus: That's right. Now, what was it again? Oh, yeah. Wait. I remember. That's it. You wish to be reunited with our family.
Elijah: You gave me your word, Niklaus.
Klaus: What kind of brother would break his bond? Even though you did try to kill me.
Elijah: I could have. But I didn't. [Elijah helps Klaus put on his jacket. Bellatrix looks at Elijah.]
Bellatrix: You couldn't. Bennet's spell wasn't working, i stopped her in time. I saved his hybrid ass.
Elijah: Languege!
Bellatrix: (rolling her eyes) Okay, Captain America! [Elijah looked confused.]
Hayley, Marcel, Davina and Layla chuckled.
Klaus: Relax, Elijah. All is forgiven.
Elijah: Where are they?
Klaus: You need to lighten up. I'll bring you to them soon enough.
Bellatrix: Oh, Nik. I bought you a gift for breaking a curse. [Gives him a box.]
Klaus: Thank you. [Opens the box and sees the dog toy and leash.]
Bellatrix: Congrulations becoming a dog! [Bellatrix speed away with a laugh. Elijah laughed.]
Klaus: BELAAATRIX!
Everyone off screen burst out laughing. Kol even fall off the sit and started rolling on ground, tears running down his face from laughing. Klaus glared at them, but his lips twitched upwards.
Alaric's Residence
[Stefan enters the apartment. Katherine is sitting on the bed.]
Stefan: Hello, Katherine. [She gets up.]
Katherine: Two days, I've been waiting. I'm supposed to be free of Klaus' compulsion by now. He's supposed to be dead!
Stefan: We ran into complications.
Katherine: Complications?
Stefan: Doesn't really matter. I just need to find him. Do you have any idea where he might be? [She pushes him against the wall and motions for him to be quiet. Klaus, Bella and Elijah walk through the door.]
Katherine: Klaus, you're back. Look who decided to come for a visit. [Klaus looks at Stefan.]
Klaus: You just keep popping up, don't you?
Stefan: I need your help... For my brother.
Klaus: Well, whatever it is, it's gonna have to wait a tick. You see, I have an obligation to my brother that requires my immediate attention. [Elijah looks at Stefan.]
Elijah: You understand how important family is, or you wouldn't be here. My brother gave me his word that he would reunite me with my own.
Klaus: And so I shall. [He stabs a dagger through Elijah's heart, killing him.]
Elijah glares at him.
"Why didn't you stop him?" Asked Hayley.
"He would creat too much problems and Nik would undagger him in few months anyway." Said Bella.
"You can't know that." Said Davina.
"He promised me and Nik might be many things, but he isn't the one for breaking promises." Said Bella.
"He broke his promise just know!" Said Hayley.
"Technically, he did reunite Elijah with our family, so he didn't." Said Bella. Klaus smiled at her for defending.
[He pushes Stefan against a wall.]
Klaus: Now, what am I gonna do with you? [Klaus puts a stake through Stefan. Stefan groans and buckles forward but Klaus holds him up.]
Klaus: Do you feel that? It's scraping against your heart. The slightest little movement and you're dead.
Kathrine: He's just trying to help his brother. [Bellatrix rose her brow.]
Stefan: The witches said you had a cure. Make me a deal. Just give me the cure, and I'll do whatever you want. [Klaus takes out the stake. Stefan falls on the floor. Klaus walks over to the counter, puts the dagger on it, and pours himself a glass of blood.]
Klaus: Trouble is I don't know if you'd be any good to me the way you are now. You are just shy of useless.
Alaric's Residence
[Stefan is still on the floor. Klaus has a glass of blood in his hands and crouches down to speak to him. Katherine and Bellatrix are looking at them.]
Klaus: I heard about this one vampire, crazy bloke, always on and off the wagon for decades. When he was off, he was magnificent. 1917, he went into Monterrey and wiped out an entire migrant village... A true ripper. Sound familiar?
Stefan: I haven't been that way in a very long time.
Klaus: Well, that's the vampire I can make a deal with. That is the kind of talent that I can use when I leave this town. [Stefan gets up.]
Klaus: Katerina, come here. [Katherine gets closer. He takes her arm. His face changes, his eyes are yellow. He bites her.]
Katherine: Aah! Aah! No. No... No. No. No. [He bites his own wrist. He makes Katherine drink his blood. Her wound heals. Klaus looks at Stefan.]
Klaus: You want your cure? There it is.
Stefan: Your blood is the cure.
Klaus: Gotta love Mother Nature. [Klaus puts his hand on Stefan's shoulder.]
Klaus: Now... Let's talk, you and I. [Klaus is squeezing a knife blade tightly, and blood is pouring from his hand into a vial. Stefan is looking at him. Katherine is in retreat, looking at them. Bellatrix seems curious.]
Klaus: There it is. You want to save your brother? How 'bout a decade-long bender? And I have big plans for you when we leave this town.
Stefan: I'm not like that anymore.
Klaus: Well, that's too bad. You would have made a hell of a wingman. [He starts pouring the blood down the sink.]
Stefan: Wait! [Klaus stops pouring the blood]
Klaus: Now that's more like it. I want you to join me for a drink. [He throws him a blood bag along the counter. Stefan takes it. Klaus watches while drinking his glass of blood. Stefan takes a sip from the blood bag.]
Klaus: Finish it. All of it. You do everything I say, and I save your brother. That's the deal. [Stefan drinks all of it. Klaus throws him another blood bag.]
Klaus: Again. [Stefan drinks.]
