"Mama, I'm homeeee!" Billie called in a sing-song voice as we stepped through the doorway of her childhood home.

It smelled like someone was cooking, and there was soft piano music playing throughout the house. Already, I was aware of the coziness that the house emanated.

While she sauntered right in, I bent over to quickly untie my shoes and place them out of the way, then followed.

Billie was in the kitchen, hugging her mom who looked to have been busy cooking dinner. When they broke apart, she caught sight of me and her smile widened.

"And you've brought Willow! Hello, dear, Billie talks about you constantly," Maggie stepped forward to hug me as well, which made me flinch a little in surprise before I quickly hugged her back.

"Hi, Maggie," I offered simply, shyly smiling back at her. Billie didn't seemed at all concerned at being exposed, although she probably thought I was either uninterested or very very dense at this point.

"Are you staying for dinner? I've made lots!" Maggie asked while she got back to work.

"Oh, no, I'm not-" Billie cut me off.

"Yes, she is, and we'll be in my room by the way," Billie grabbed my hand and dragged me out of the kitchen.

"Billie, I really don't want to intrude-" She cut me off again, whipping around to grab both my cheeks and stare into my soul in the middle of the hallway.

"You're not, we literally asked you if you wanted to stay, now be a good girl and shut up, Willow," She demanded, then turned back on her heels and into a different room, which looked to be her living room.

A ginger-haired man turned out to be the cause of the piano. He stopped abruptly when we walked in, a smile on his face when he saw Billie.

Billie hugged him, then introduced me. "Hi, Finch. This is Willow, say hi, okay bye," She barely gave us a chance to even say a word before she had yanked me back out of the room and down the hallway again, into a bedroom.

"This is my room, sit on the bed and get comfy," Billie ordered, shutting the door behind us.

I smiled tentatively at her as I sat on the bed. "Your family seems nice. Um, where's your dad?" I asked, having not seen him.

Billie shrugged, flopping onto the bed and starfishing, one of her legs ending up on my lap.

"Probably in his office or something; doesn't matter cuz you'll see him when we eat," She said, sounding bored.

Suddenly, she shot up and grabbed my shoulders. "You should sleep over!" She squealed, shaking me.

I stared at her with wide eyes, then laughed, brushing her hands off. "I can't Billie, I've got work at 6:30 tomorrow,"

Billie pouted. "I could drive you," She offered immediately, giving me puppy-dog eyes.

I looked away and bit the inside of my cheek, shaking my head slowly.

Billie whined dramatically and flopped back on the bed. "Sleep over at my place Sunday night, then. You said you have Monday off so you can't use that excuse!" She pointed a playful, accusing finger at me, smiling widely.

I chuckled. "Okay, fine. Your place?" I repeated, just to be sure.

Billie nodded, settling back down now that she was satisfied. "Yeah, we'll stay here on Sunday until I dunno how late and then head back to my place so we can have some peace away from my brother. Come and cuddle with me; you look so uncomfortable sitting there," She insisted, grabbing my arm to try and tug me down.

I resisted and pulled my hand away. "I'm fine," I mumbled, looking at the floor.

Billie sighed. "Willowwwwwwwwww," She dragged out. "Stop being awkward and come CUDDLE ME!" She grabbed my hand again and yanked me down to lay on top of her, my head ending up just below her chin.

I tried to squirm and get away, but Billie placed her hands on my back and I was stuck.

Billie giggled at my feeble attempts to get away. "Quit moving Willow, it's just me," She said through her laughs.

I grumbled but eventually lay still and tense on top of her, my cheeks flushed red which thankfully she couldn't see.

Billie rubbed my back lightly with one hand, causing me to tense up even more at the unexpected touch.

Billie sighed. "Relax. It's just me, Willow," She repeated in a mumble, sounding sleepy. I exhaled slowly and tucked my head down, attempting to calm myself.

A knock on the door made me jump up and scramble away from Billie as quickly as I could, blushing.

Maggie slowly opened the door and peeked her head In, smiling. "Dinner's ready, come and eat!" She told us, then left, shutting the door again behind her.

I sighed and turned back to Billie, taken aback by the smug smirk she wore, looking straight into my eyes.

Puzzled and curious, I asked, "What's got you so pleased?"

Billie slowly sat up, still looking more self-satisfied than I'd ever seen her.

"Because," She started smoothly, "You wouldn't feel guilty about being caught cuddling if you thought we were just friends," She stated simply, moving away before I could respond.

"C'mon, let's get some food," She called to me, her voice back to normal. I inhaled and got onto my shaky legs, stumbling after her.
