I woke up first. But I didn't move.

How could I when Billie's arms were wrapped so tightly around me? Not only that it would have woken her up, but I didn't want to. I wanted to stay here forever.

So, I stayed still, my head resting on her chest as if it were a pillow. I could hear her heart from my position, the lub-dub sound made me relax further against her.

Half an hour later, Billie stirred. She grunted, and I glanced up to see her eyes were just barely open. She lifted one hand off of me to rub them. When she caught my eye, she smiled, but didn't speak. Clearly, she was of the same mind as me in wanting to soak up this moment as much as possible.

However, eventually, inevitably, the silence had to be broken.

"Do you know what time it is?" Billie spoke softly, her voice low and gravelly from sleep.

I exhaled, reaching over her to my phone that was resting on the bedside table. The lock screen read 8:44 AM.

I showed her, then focused on the text message that was on my screen.

Alex

You free today?

"Whose Alex?" Billie commented, her tone just a bit too casual.

"My friend I made on Sunday I told you about," I informed her, setting my phone down without responding. I'll get to it later.

"Oh, right," Billie yawned, arms briefly tightening around me. She sighed deeply afterwards, then looked at me. "You gonna text her back?"

I shrugged. "Later," I mumbled, closing my eyes again.

Billie hummed. "You gonna see her?"

I chuckled lightly at her curiosity. "Why? You jealous?" I teased.

A faint blush rose on her cheeks. "Nah. Just curious about how much time I have with you today,"

I scrunched my nose at her, smiling. "I'd rather stay with you anyway. But I do work from 4 to 8, so I'll have to leave before then,"

Billie groaned, rolling over on top of me. I squeaked as the breath was squashed out of me.

"Billie- can't breathe!" I gasped. She laughed and rose up on her elbows, freeing her body weight from my chest.

"You should ask Alex if she wants hang with both of us, I wanna meet her," Billie mumbled, rolling off of me onto her side.

"I guess I could. Later, though," I repeated.

"Only if you want to," Billie assured me. After a moment of silence, she asked, "Do you wanna get up?"

I shook my head, eyes closing once again.

"Me neither," Billie agreed, resting her head on my shoulder.

A few minutes later, she spoke again.

"Do you think we're moving too fast?"

I opened my eyes and turned my head to look at her. She didn't seem or sound upset; just thoughtful.

"Do you?" I asked, worried now. Were we moving too fast? I hadn't thought about that for a while, but we had met only two and a half weeks ago. It had just felt so right, kissing her. Should we have waited?

Billie thought for a moment. "No," She admitted. "I- you feel right. I mean, I've never felt this way about someone before, and I've been in quite a few relationships," She confessed, glancing away.

I exhaled, relieved. "I haven't either, although I've never been in a romantic relationship before," I mumbled.

Billie rose onto her elbow again, curiosity twinkling mischievously in her eyes. "Oh? What sort of relationship have you had then?"

Of course, I could never go more than an hour around Billie before she inevitably made me blush. "Um, I had a sort of friends with benefits situation when I was 17, lasted about two years. We never really cared about each other outside of the bedroom though, it was just for sex," I admitted, looking away.

Billie hummed. "Damn. So you're experienced then, huh?" She teased, her free hand brushing against my cheek.

I shrugged. "Not really. It's been awhile, she was the only person I've ever been with," I tried to keep a straight face and not think so much about what I was saying and start blushing again.

"Huh," Billie repeated. "I don't think I could ever go 5 years without sex," She muttered, sounding as if it was to herself.

I chuckled. "So how long has it been, then?" I don't know where the short burst of boldness came from. Probably my desperation to talk about anything but myself.

"Uhh, three weeks," Billie mumbled, avoiding my eyes.

As long as we've known each other, I subconsciously noted.

"I guess I should text Alex back so that we actually have time to do something with her," I changed the subject, sitting up.

Billie groaned. "Noooo," She complained, flopping onto her back and pouting.

I laughed at her. "Billie, it's past 9:30. We don't have to meet her yet but I'd like to get up now so I have time for breakfast,"

Billie sighed dramatically, then slowly scooched to the edge of the bed, and eventually slipped off the edge and landed on her butt. She glared at me as if her deliberate fall had been my fault.

I ignored her and stole a hoodie from her closet.
