Out of Time - A Marvel/? Fanfic

Name Day

You and the queen have been sitting in silence, and you've made eye contact with everything in the room except for the queen. 

"As Queen, I could simply demand you tell me who you are," you hear the Queen, but stay silent and take another sip of tea. She places her cup down, "I am only trying to help, dear. Can you tell me your name at least?"

That question finally brings your eyes to hers, and you shake your head, "The only ones meant to know that, are my parents and whomever I marry."

"Now THAT is not a tradition I have heard of before," a small smile forms on her face at you finally speaking. "So what do you wish for me to call you?"

"I..." you sigh and swirl your tear around. "Was a short time away from choosing my title, officially. Where I am from, that is customary at a certain age."

The Queen nods, "How old are you, child?"

You laugh a little at her choice of word to address you, "With all due respect, your Majesty, I am an age beyond the comprehension of many."

"Well, when you are more than 3,000 years, like myself, you will stop keeping track," she sits on the edge of her seat.

Your mouth hangs open, "You're..."

"And please, call me Frigga. While you..." she stands and you follow. "I will call you The Traveler." Before you can speak, the Queen continues, "Now, come with me. I will show you to your chambers."

"My cham...?" you start to say, but have to catch up to the Queen. 

"And you can formally meet my sons," you follow as she leads down a corridor. On your right are arch cutouts in the gold walls, overlooking endless gardens. On your left, the now common solid gold walls, with various paintings and statues. "They train outside most days."

The grounds quickly change to a few sheds, straw dummies on wood, and the sounds of metal clanging with different surfaces, "Are you preparing for a battle?" You watch the group, including Thor, who Frigga pointed out upon your arrival.

"We are not," Frigga switches her gaze from Thor, to you, and then back. "However, you will find them here even into the late hours."

You swallow, hiding your relief at Frigga's mention of no battle. 

While you both observe, a maid comes up and speaks to Frigga, "If you'll excuse me, I am needed in the Healing Ward. Feel free to walk around. I will find you shortly."

She leaves, and now you admire the craftsmanship of the weapons being used and those that stand against the sheds.

"If you are going to continue to gawk at my oaf of a brother, I will be forced to leave as well," a voice comes from your right.

"I am not..." you keep your attention forward.

"Please. Spare me. You were practically..." the disgust clear in the man's voice.

But it's his tone that causes you to turn, seeing him lost in a book, "If you are going to accuse me of something, look at me, instead of hiding in your book." You fold your arms across your chest.

When he snaps the book shut, you do not even flinch, "Do you know who you are speaking to?" 

You shrug, "I don't really care."

The man places the book down next to him and stands, "I am Lo..."

"AND I was gawking at his pompousness," you do not let him finish. "It's almost sickening. That's when you'll get slop..." 

Thor misses a target and his hammer breaks through the front and back of a wooden shed.

"...py," you exhale a laugh. "I..." but when you turn around, the other man is gone.

Author's Note: Ok, so a quick rant about the Loki season(series?) finale: Am I sad that it's over? Yes, absolutely. Do I think there needs to be a 3rd season? No. I 100% want to see more of Tom's Loki in future MCU projects, and I think there will/needs to be, based on everything that has happened in not only Loki, but the other most recent Marvel movies/shows. Loki's character arc, to quote Tom, has really come full circle. I would watch a Season 3, but I think it would be doing a disservice to the characters and series as a whole. I'm sad for Loki's situation, but Kevin Feige wouldn't have said that he wants Thor and Loki to reunite if that probably isn't in the works. Fingers crossed. I am however excited to see what projects Tom has planned! Hope you all liked this part, and will continue to vote/read x
