-----------------------------

Days have passed since I had last seen Ajax. Well, it's not entirely his fault, and not entirely mine. I refused to leave the house, and just now I realized how dramatic I was. Like seriously, all that just because of that *incident?*

It'd be awkward if we ever meet again, but of course, I won't be the first one to apologize. I'm the one who woke up to Ajax cuddling me, yuck.

I groaned when I saw another post of the Fatui cafe, their delicious pastries...oh, and their tea

In the background of the photo, I could see Ajax smiling and doing a goofy pose. Looking at it, A small smile formed on my lips before I paused and processed what I had just done.

Did I smile at Ajax?

Or...

Just the laughable stupidity in what he's doing?

Anyway..

I would never resist food, even if it meant I would encounter Ajax--which was inevitable since he was working there, meaning that I had to eventually have at least eye contact with him, or even more-

Perhaps I could act normal and not start a conversation?

But wouldn't that make me seem like I'm mad at him? I wouldn't want a misunderstanding.

I sighed while getting up from my bed and walking to the shower. Food is food, and besides, it's just Ajax. What could go wrong?

"Did I make him mad? Was I too close for his liking?" Signora groaned at my words, closing her makeup thingy before looking at me with a glare. With that look, it made her seem like a witch.

"Just move on, it's nothing big. If he didn't like you he would've pushed or kicked you away."

Her words did make sense, but what if he couldn't bring himself to hurt me? What if he had some sort of trauma that triggered when I did that? What if-

"Look, Ajax." Signora interrupted my thoughts with a pat on the shoulder, "Just relax. Sooner or later, he'll probably come back. Maybe even today."

"But that's just you-"

"And I'm always correct, believe me."

I chuckled while swiping her hand away, "Bet."

I was doing my job normally, being the responsible and good barista I am.

I didn't think too much of the noise in the cafe, the clicking of pens, the tapping of keys, the never-ending chatter--the sounds were relaxing for some reason, I hoped something exciting and chaotic would happen.

I stayed quiet and with a smile plastered on my face, everything was calm--until Signora ran to my spot and shook me for no reason.

"He's here!" She said with a strong slap on my shoulder, making me look at her with squinted eyes and an annoyed expression.

"Who? Rostam?"

"No!"

"Uh, your ex?"

"Scaramouche!"
