"Emma?"
The familiar voice sent a shiver up my back. It couldn't be after all this time. There is no way. That she was...alive. I stiffen up. Lilly's hand touches my shoulder to look at my face. She looked as if she never aged a day from when she was training me to Edmund's death to .... Now. Lilly's eyes filled with tears as she hugged me. I didn't move an inch. Lilly had blamed me, she was suppose to be there for me and then she went with a stranger! She had hurt me. Lilly was the real monster.
"Emma, I'm ..... Well I'm .... Sorry."
Lilly looked at her feet. As if her feet were to tell her how to deal with this. The "this" being me!
"I.... I don't know what to say."
"Say you forgive me. And I will tell you everything is all right."
The silent filled the gap between us. Lilly moved farther away from me mentally. I couldn't trust her. Her eyes were still frosted over. I was going to jump on Enzo right next to me and fly away, but something inside me told me to ask Lilly.
"Lilly, do you love me?"
"Of course I do, you were the first real person like me, my first person I could call a friend ,family."
"Do you want a second chance?"
A blue butterfly flew in the distance with a flock behind it, moving away from the house of lies.
