Papa's voice was strict and harsh as he shook me from my sleep. "Wake up girl! They're here!" My eyes threatened to flutter closed until I remembered about my siblings. They wouldn't know how to defend themselves - Papa didn't train them like he did me.

I nodded and stretched, quickly sitting up and rummaging my chair for some clothes I'd worn earlier in the day. "Faster girl," Papa snapped, keeping his back to me as he watched the door like something would pounce through it at any given time.

A shriek rang through our house and my blood went cold. Karina. I felt the pain in her scream like my own and for a brief moment, I wished I would've never slept tonight. I could've protected her from that pain. She was my other half after all.

Pulling my T-shirt over my head, I tapped Papa on the shoulder, nodding that I was ready. He nodded his approval, handing me a knife. It had a pretty handle with crystals on it that were supposed to resemble the stars.

"When you go down there," he started, his tone leaving no room for argument. "You don't hesitate to kill, understood?" I nodded, my heart beating too fast for me to keep up.

"If it comes to it," he'd told me, "don't hesitate to sacrifice yourself for your sisters, understood?"
I nodded again, not knowing that my choice wouldn't be mine for much longer.

Downstairs in the living room were my two sisters, Karina and Natalya. Karina was my twin while Natalya was two years younger than me. Both of them were being slapped around by two men triple their size and my heartbeat slowed, the instinct Papa had worked on flaring.

I raised my knife, sending it flying straight between their heads, barely missing their ears.
As they looked around for the danger, I signaled for Karina and Natalya to run from there, the two of them immediately scrambling to their feet and running as fast as they could.

I ground my teeth, the bruises on them adding fuel to the fire in me as I watched the men's gaze landed on me.
I held my chin high, meeting their gazes head on, refusing to back down.

Papa chuckled and pat my head, a sign I was doing something right. "There you go," he told the men. "You wanted the crazy one, I brought her to you."

The two men chuckled and licked their lips as their friends looked at me the same way my doberman looked at his treats. My stomach twisted into itself and I had the sudden urge to throw up but I held my ground, knowing what was at stake if I showed weakness.

I could bear the hits. Karina and Natalya couldn't.

I walked into the room, standing in front of the men with my chin still held high as they watched me. "Hey do you think she'll hallucinate about something while we break her in?" One of them chuckled as the others laughed.

I shuddered, my eyes narrowing further as my glare intensified. They laughed harder. "Fuck she's beautiful," one of the men standing next to my father said. "Yeah just imagine how she'll look when she'll be older," another commented, eyeing my body.
"She'll be perfect then."

More laughs sounded around the room and my fists tightened at my side, my cheeks heating from the humiliation of their words. I wasn't eager to receive compliments from people like them.
