ROMERO"And what exactly is your plan, smartass?" Stefan asked, sipping his whiskey like my whole life plan hadn't crumbled before us in a matter of a night.
"Well," I started, leaning back in my sit and watching the clouds floating around our jet. "The plan is to go there, throw her over my shoulder and bring her home."
"Las Vegas is her home, you dense fucker," Domenico muttered, petting Tinny's fury head with more affection than he tended to his wounds with.
I grunted but didn't respond, content to keeping my thoughts to myself since all of them seemed to know her better than me.
"Can I say something?" Karina's soft voice came from around Domenico and I turned my head just in time to see him frowning at her as she picked her cat out of his lap.
I lifted my hand and motioned for her to go on. She pinned me with a serious look and I shifted uncomfortably, the intensity of her turquoise eyes successfully making me uncomfortable every time I was the victim of it.
"I think you should leave Aida to her own devices," she told me, never once breaking eye contact. "You don't know her half as well as you think you can. If you thought of her as a coward for going to Las Vegas then you're more like him than you could ever imagine." She exhaled a deep breath as she settled into the seat across me.
My eyes narrowed on her, shooting her a glare that she met head on.
Karina may have been the softest looking out of all of us but she was just as fucked up as us - maybe even more.
"You're going to leave my sister alone Romero," she spoke in a quiet voice.
I nodded, trying to give her the impression I actually would. Something sharp digged into my calf and I looked down to see Karina's leg stretched out and pushing at my leg.
Her eyes were set in the worst glower I'd ever seen on her. "You will leave her alone Romero. If she'll want you to ever contact her again then you'll be on standby like the lovesick bastard you are." I opened my mouth to speak but she held a hand up to stop me.
"I may have been absent from her life for the past years but I know my sister. I know what your father did to make her hate him this much." Her pretty face morphed into a slightly demonic one as she bent forward to snarl in my face.
"You're so clueless about what happens in your city and to the woman you claim you want, you don't even know why she hates you."
"Why does she?" I countered, ready to get the story over one way or another.
A low growl came from behind me and I looked over my shoulder to find Domenico with his hand on his gun and his eyes fixated on me like I was ready to kill his cat.
I put my hands up in defense and turned back to looking out the window.
"FOR THE LOVE OF EVERY FURRY ANIMAL," a female bellowed from the bedroom in the jet, right before a stream of sneezes sounded, making the entire plane sound like an elephant was having a party on it.
Karina cringed and quickly passed Tinny The Cat to Domenico. "I'm gonna go change and see what she needs," she spoke quietly to the bodyguard before she pressed a kiss to the cat's head and dashing into the bathroom with her change of clothes.
"So," Stefan said. "Between us boys, should we have a night out?"
I rolled my eyes and shrugged, not really interested in whatever that meant.
"Come on, Don, you'll be a single man by the end of the night," Domenico teased, making my blood boil with the urge to shoot him straight in his half bald fucking head.
