ROMEROA grin kept over my face as I sauntered back to the house, a skip in my step as I kept whistling.
Fiorella and Stefan were waiting on the doorstep, my sister's mouth falling open when she saw my cheeriness. Her eyes widened in horror as she shrieked and darted inside the house.
Stefan too looked mortified at my good mood, his face a mask of confusion.
Emotions were a strange thing for my brother. He'd never understood them, never really felt them - never gave a shit for them. So he was probably confused why anything would make me this cheery.
My grin widened more if that was even possible and my brother's face took on a mortified note as he too, turned around and waltzed inside.
I chuckled to myself and hurried my step, wanting to get to them before the demon mistress did.
Demon mistress was Aida, by the way.
I shut the door loudly behind me, annoucing my arrival as I sauntered where I could hear hushed whispers from.
"I'm back," I announced cheerily and spread my arms out as my two siblings and Natalya, Aida's younger sister, looked at me like I'd grown an extra head.
"We can see that," Fiorella said slowly, ducking behind Stefan. She peeked around him to give me a horrified stare before she slid on the couch next to Natalya.
Stefan eyed me with suspicion. "Why are you so cheery?"
I smirked. "Can't a man just be happy around here?"
My siblings both shook their heads before responding at the same time.
"No."
I sighed and rolled my eyes.
Natalya shifted on her couch, her awfully vibrant blue eyes seemingly staring right through me before she spoke, her tone surprisingly empty. "We saw smoke coming from the woods," she said nonchalantly, as if it was a regular thing.
I felt my face welcome a big smile. "Yes your sister gave me the biggest pleasure and set fire to my shirt."
All three of them choked on air, eye wide in horror.
"And you're happy about that?!" Fiorella asked, her horror evident in her huge mortified eyes and expression.
I nodded and crossed my arms over my bare chest. Stefan's eyes raked over my upper body, annoyance crossing through them when he saw the red burn marks crossing my skin.
"Of course he's happy about that," came a raspy voice from behind me. "Your brother is nothing if not a sucker for pain."
I smirked and turned my head sideways, looking at Aida from the corner of my eye.
She'd changed her clothes. Completely 360 from what she was wearing before, now she sported a skintight black dress with tall heels that made her long legs look endless.
"You should be glad I'm not some weak pussy who'll run from you," I told her, still not facing her.
I saw her roll her eyes and run a hand through her hair before she muttered something that soundwd awfully close to "I kind of wish you would be," under her breath.
Stefan chuckled and I narrowed my eyes on him before relaxing again as the clicking of heels got closer.
Aida sauntered to the couch and motioned for her sister to scoot closer to Stefan so she'd have some room on the gigantic couch.
"So," she said after getting comfortable. "Care to tell me what your fucking plan is?"
I blinked at her. "Pardon me?"
