My dad as sound asleep in his room. I made sure that I put on my shoes and clothes just incase something happened. I grabbed my side bag so I can sneak a few things in there. I quietly opened my door shutting it lightly behind me. I tippy toes down the stairs making sure not to make a the wood creek.

My dads office door slide open quietly as I moved it carefully. "Lets see where to start." I said to myself looking around. I looked around the bookshelf and found a very old book I opened it and saw millions of words I scanned through the pages flipping through them quickly I finally saw a picture of keys. I shoved it in my bag and moved on to his desk I opened the draws and saw a keypad. "Hmmm four numbers four numbers." I repeated to myself thinking really hard on the password. My birth year is a possible password. "1998" I said as I pressed the numbers. Incorrect was spelt along the digital screen. "Wow thanks dad" I said sarcastically. Moms birth year? okay "1975"I said pressing the numbers correct was spelt across the screen now.

Of course it would be mom's birth year he loved her then she disappeared. People said she was murdered but her body was never found. Her disappearance happened when I was 13 so around 4 years ago. Everyone in the community died down a bit a few weeks after but my father and I never really moved on. My friends and their parents helped but something just was left empty in me.

I pulled my hand into the draw and slid open the box like thing that the was being protected by the keypad. The key was laying their alone with a leather folder I took both quickly and put it in my bag. "That's good enough" I mumbled to myself quietly leaving his office. I slipped into my room unnoticed and texted the group in a group message.

"I got the key and a few other things." I typed and hit send waiting for the others to reply.

I walked out back not making a noise making sure to bring the bag and a notebook and pen just incase something needs to be written down.

"Hey." I said from above the platform of our tree house as I saw Zander appear near our treehouse. "Hey he smiled climbing up the ladder. "so did you have trouble sneaking out?" I asked him as he took a seat next to me. We let our feet dangle down, I was waiting for him to answer. "not really, my mom and dad were fighting again they barely notice me as it is." Zander said looking away hiding his face clenching his jaw, but not out of anger mostly out of hurt. "They notice you, you are the most amazing son anyone can ask for. Anyone will be lucky to have you." I told him nudging him a bit "wait?..what?" He asked "you know, you're an amazing friend you're caring and nice and unique." I told him smiling at him. "thanks, your pretty amazing too you know, and beautiful." He said I blushed and looked towards him. He gave me a half smile as we stared at each other for a while. He began I lean in I didn't know what I was think but I started to lean in too. "Hey, we are coming up." I heard River whisper yell. I pulled away before Zander's and my lips touch. "Uhmm sorry." He said rubbing the back of his neck "It's fine I smiled getting up going inside meeting River and Liana sitting down on the couch.
"What were you and Zander doing outside?" Liana asked raising we eyebrow. "Nothing." I said a little to fast "really?" River teased smirking "Whats up guys." Zander asked from behind. Thank god I though to myself. "nothing lets get to work." I said pulling my bag of my shoulders setting it on the table.
