Allison's POV:
I was sitting down on the edge of the treehouse patio thing. I had my legs pulled up against my chest keeping myself warm, the black leggings and hoodie I was wearing barely helped.

"Zander likes me." I whispered to myself. I was trying to process this all. Zander and I have been friends forever. Its weird thinking of us as a couple. What would my dad think? He already thinks Zander is dangerous because he was the one who got pulled in to destroy the key. Why did he get pulled in anyway?
Stop getting sidetracked. I told myself. I heard a creak of the wooden ladder that lead up to the treehouse. I whipped my head around seeing if whoever it was, was already inside.

"Hey." Zander said as he spoke silently allowing the dim light show his face.

"Hey." I said above a whisper looking down at my shoes.

"I'm sorry about today." Zander said sitting next to me letting his legs hang over the edge.

"It's fine it's just.." I said trying to find the right words.

"Weird, different." He said throwing a few suggestions.

"Yeah pretty much and a little bit of my dad." I said

"He doesn't like me does he?" Zander said.

"No.. he does its just he's scared that your dangerous." I answered

"Dangerous?" Zander asked shocked with wide eyes.

"Not dangerous but he's just iffy about you." I answered

"Your Lying." Zander answered

"No I'm not." I said back.

"Did you forget I have the gift of honesty just like you? Plus see a new mark appearing on your neck." Zander pointed out.

"Oh right." I said defeated covering the mark on my neck.

"Your dad doesn't like me." Zander said shaking his head

"He thinks your dangerous because you are the one that got pulled in to destroy the key." I answered

"So.. that doesn't make me important." Zander said

"Yes it does, they obviously need someone powerful to destroy that key, if anyone could do it then that key would have been destroyed a long time ago." I told him grabbing his hand.

"True, but I'm just me, nothing special I'm just a teenager in training just like you." Zander said

"Your more than that your my best friend." I told him smiling intertwine his hand with mine.

"You make this a whole lot harder you know that right?" Zander said chuckling.

"What do you mean?" I asked

"Every time you do something like this , you make it impossible not to fall for you." He answered

"I don't do it on purpose." I said laughing a little.
"I know you don't, but listen I'm not suppose to be telling you this." Zander said looking down shutting his eyes.

"Telling me what, there's voiced in my head... ever since the pulled me in to destroy the key, they have been talking to me, I don't know what to do other times they can control what I do. I don't want to hurt you." Zander said taking a break holding his head.

"Zander are you okay?" I asked taking his face into my hands having him look at me.

"Go..." He said

"What?" I asked

"Go...RUN.." He shouted pushing me off him grabbing his head more shutting his eyes tightly.

"They are taking over. I don't know if I can control it, I don't..want to hu..hurt you Allison." Zander struggled to say.

I had stood up but I didn't leave.

"Zander please let me help." I said bending down to him.

Zander whipped his head towards me and his eyes where black, pitch black not a single dash of color was there.
He got up from his crouched position and pushed me aside roughly and he began to walk off toward the ladder.
I grabbed his hand stopping him. He looked at me and smirked.

"You're going to be sorry for that." He said, but that wasn't Zander this voice sounded heartless. Zander tackled me to the ground unexpectedly

"ZANDER GET OFF!!" I shouted trying to push him off.

"You take me to the key and then I will stop." He growled

"Zander this isn't you." I struggled. Zander slapped me hard making me shocked especially when he took a hold of my neck. Zander my best friend was chocking me.No this wasn't him, They are controlling him. I tried to pry his hands off but he was to strong.

"So are you going to take me to the key?" He asked once I was red from struggling for air.

I shook my head no. There was no way i was going to show him that key. I'm not sure which side is right or wrong, but until I figure it out I'm not letting anything bad happen to that key.

"Don't be stupid Allison." Zander laughed letting my neck go. I took this chance to gasp for air.

"You need to be smart about this." He spoke again. Grabbing my wrist and pulling them back. He was squeezing them tightly cutting off circulation quickly.

"I am tell me why do you want that key destroyed."I shouted back out of anger and pain.

"Those people your father wants to save, they are crazy, mad and gone, nothing can save them. They are lost souls." Zander said, but I knew this wasn't Zander it was someone controlling him, they were just using his body.

"You don't know that has anyone tried to help?" I asked still struggling. I tried kicking my feet but it was useless.

"Years ago, a whole army was killed. By those monsters. We are never making that mistake again." A rough voice said from my side. I turned my head and saw a man dressed in a generals outfit. "Who are you?" I spat

"General Wade, Zander get off." Wade ordered

Zander quickly stood, having two soldiers running to his side pinning his arms back, His eyes were back to normal and he looked confused and lost.

"Alison what happened?" He asked

"I don't know you tell me." I scoffed back.

"What are you doing here?" I asked

"To take you hostage, until you say where the key is." The general said

"My father will come looking for me." I said thinking I found a loop hole.

"Will he, or is his plan more important, he thinks saving lives is more important than his own daughter, sad if you ask me." General wade smirked yanking me off the ground and pinned my arms back handcuffing me.

"Where are you taking me?" I asked

"Somewhere special." He answered

"Zander help me." I said back desperately

"Don't worry he's coming too, he has seen to much." Wade answered shoving me down the ladder. Then I saw nothing but black.
