Chapter 7

"Zander calm down everything is okay, it's just a meeting for the trainees." I cooled as we entered the HQ. I noticed his chest rising up quickly as he tried to control his breath. "yeah they probably just want to give us a heads up on something." Liana said walking ahead of us to the elevator.

"Zander just calm down, and don't worry we will be by your side so if anyone asks you a question about the key, you won't be alone." River added giving him a light smile. Zander returned the smile and looked back down. "Something just feels off." He spoke. "everything has for the last day." I reminded. "yeah I guess." He admitted as we all got into the elevator liana was impatiently holding for us. "you guys are slow like turtles." Liana sighed pressing the Level four button. "what if they decide to control me during the meeting?" Zander worried once more. "we will be right there to bring you back." I told him giving him a confronting smiling. "I hope so." He whispered. I don't think he meant for us to hear. So I gave looks to the girls wondering why to do. Zander has never been this worried in front of us before. I notice River widening her green eyes at me and looking down at his hands. I already knew what she wanted me to do just by the look on her face, I nodded and slowly brought my hand down to Zander's grabbing a hold of it. He quickly responded by intertwine our fingers. I smiled to myself looking away not having anyone notice.

"Your late." My dad said as we entered the room. "We had a delay." I simply said walking to the back row of seats that were lined up in 4 rows already full of trainees. Zander,Liana and River took their seats. Zander sitting to my right and River sitting to my left with Liana sitting to Rivers other side. "Okay we will begin now." My dad spoke grabbing a small remote out from his pocket.

"As you all know there has been a rush to your training." My dad started pressing the remote having the screen come down from the ceiling turning on the projector. Showing our symbol of 3 vertical lines with a circle around them. It symbolized our three traits and how we must stick with them never crossing our barrier of given personalities.

My dads assistant came to stand next to him holding out a wooden box, pressing out her breast to make them seem bigger. I rolled my eyes at her actions. She pulled back a strand of her hazel brown hair that had became loose from her updo. "The key has been found and we must be prepared for any surprises." My dad said opening the box from Kira his assistant. "This is the key." He stated bringing it out holding it up so everyone can see. Zander shifted in his seat a little crossing his arms scanning his eyes around the room. "2 weeks from now we will send out all of you, to go to the other world." My dad announced. "Wait sir, are you sending us out alone?" Jackson asked from the row in front of us. "heavens no, you will have three of my best men come with you, in this other world you all will bring back this diamond." my dad explained showing a picture of a crystal clear diamond on the screen. "Why do we need the diamond I thought we were training to save the innocent?" another voice I didn't recognize asked "this Diamond is the start of that. This diamond had much value and with this it will power a machine we have been working on for years." My dad answered. "what does the machine do?" liana asked raising her hand not even bothering to have anyone call on her. "it brings freedom and it allows us to change what had started years ago." My dad answered once again. "why haven't we heard about this machine before?" I asked standing from my seat. "It's clarified." My dad answered me. "Even from your own daughter, we just want to know what we are up against and why you need that diamond, I mean after all we are risking out lives for you." I snapped crossing my arms. "You bring up a fair point but answers will be given through out our expedition." He answered to me still in his calm voice. I rolled my eyes and slouched back down in my seat. receiving stares from my fellow peers. "my dad babbled on about how important the diamond is and how we will start our training this afternoon. "you are all dismissed." My father finally said music to my ears. I jumped up and shoved my way through the crowd out of the door waiting for my friends to come outside. I had an idea.

"Well thanks for leaving us in that crowd." River joked adjusting her shirt. "Sorry I couldn't tell you my idea from inside my dad would have gone suspicious." I apologized. "okay so what's you idea?" Liana asked raising her eyebrows and giving me a light smile. "well I need to get into my dads bag, this morning I saw him put in a yellow envelope and I don't know it stuck out to me." I shrugged. "Well that's going to be hard his assistant is clinging to his side at every second." Zander spoke crossing his arms. I looked around trying to light an idea. After moments of silence Liana gasped. "What?" River asked "okay so Zander your a guy right?" She questioned "I hope I am, unless my whole life has been a lie." He challenged slightly joking. "okay well Kira seems young, why don't you flirt with her and River will distract Allison's dad." Liana suggested "while I get the yellow folder." I said "exactly, I will keep watch around them go." Liana said shooing us off.

We all walked in Zander headed straight for Kira. And River headed for my dad I waited by the door so I can swoop in behind my dad and get his yellow envelope.
