                       DOMONIC

The harsh reality that Debbie doesn't like me finally settles in as my father signs the discharge papers.

I'm not the type to hit women but my father knows women who are more than willing to hit on her.

We leave through the door and I make a mental note to text Kenya and tell her that we've left.

Likkle crawsis bwoy! Go find the girl and apologize.

"Me aguh tell me girl fi leff cause I'm leaving" I turn back to see her already coming out.

Her expression was one of pure anger and I sigh. I see the pregnant girl and Kevo trying to calm her down but they couldn't.

"Babe-"

"Domonic me nuh want yuh chat to me right now" she holds up her hand.

Shameeeeee.

Me deserve it though.

"Kenya guh talk to the boy" I hear the girl say when they've passed me. Kevon was at the back laughing.

"Me naah chat to nobody, mek him move him dutty rassclaat" she's cursing me out and rolling her neck.

Me a try hold me laugh eno, God know, but deh likkle girl yah need fi find Edna Manley.

"Bwoy Domo me nuh know wah yuh do to me sista mek she a gwaan suh eno, but yuh betta fix it before she bun dung aunty Claudette house" he taps me on the shoulder.

Issa mad gyal?

"Ah" I turn to my father.

"Yuh better make up with her because I'm inviting her to our family dinner" my father sternly says.

"But a just me and you since yuh wicked gyal try fi kill me" I remind him.

"Actually, Deborah and I came back to finalize our divorce" he reveals.

Tannnnn.

"Awah yuh naah seh?" I sit in the passenger seat while he goes around to the driver's seat.

"You know your mother...." He trails off, deep in thought.

My body tenses at the mention of her. I truly didn't remember anything about her and it made my heart heavy.

"I thought you'd have at least one memory of her since you weren't that young" he sighs, looking back at me.

"Well I don't. So refresh my memory".

"She died when you were four, Domonic" I couldn't believe anything that came out of his mouth.

"Then how come I don't remember anything at all?"

"I don't know" he went through many emotions at once as he stared at the road. "Your mother was my high school sweetheart and I promised her a better life. She didn't get to live it because Deborah weaseled her way in and stole everything from her".

"So you're saying you cheated on my mother with her?" That's the only thing I got from his little speech.

"Not willingly. She befriended your mother to get close to me and put something in my drink at a house party to sleep with me".

She's all kinds of sick.

It made me angry. Angry that she took advantage of both of my parents because she knew their weaknesses.

"It took everything out of me to not crumble after having to identify the body of my pregnant fiancé" my father broke down.

"Daddy pull over!" I order him, panicking that he'll crash and kill we off.
