Nicki thought about the one night stand as she was waiting until Alexander would make an appearance.

After the one night stand she had woke up alone in a bed that was unfamiliar to her. She had groaned and reached for her head. It had been pounding. What on earth had happened? She then saw the ripped bedsheets. Oh no. No, no, no! Then she also spotted those damn tiles. The tiles that HE loved. Shit. Shit, shit, SHIT! She had quickly gotten out of the bed and gathered her belongings. She got changed as fast as she could and had stared speechless at the bed. It had been a wreck. Just like her apparently. She couldn't stand the guy since the moment she had woken up as a vampire and now this. What had Alexander been to her human version? She had groaned as she gotten a flashback of the night before. She had given Alexander her report as usual. But then they had shared a drink and decided to have a little chit chat. Nothing special. Simply about how life was in the palace. What servants were up to and if someone was acting odd. Damn it. It had turned into a long conversation and both of them hadn't counted their glasses of alcohol. Another flashback. One that made her whine. She had moaned his name. Fuck. If he brought that up then she would end him then and there. She didn't care if he was her master or not.

"Alex... fuck you." Well she had... but she had meant it in an insulting manner this time. She had quickly snuck to her room and changed into fresh clothes. Clothes that hadn't been touched by Alexander. She also fed before she had gone to his office. She would act as if nothing had happened. This was a mistake. One mistake that she wouldn't make again.

Alexander looked up from his paperwork as she entered the office. There was a spark in his eyes. She was unfamiliar with that. had it been because of her? No. It must've be something else. Alexander gestured for her to take a seat and so she did.

"I need you on the battlefield. Try to get some intel from the enemy." He had told her and handed her a file. "This has everything you need. If you have any questions, I would like to hear them before you leave."

Thank god. He had acted as if nothing had happened and she did the same. She had read the file, bowed and looked him emotionless in the eye. She had wanted to make sure that he hadn't been able to read her emotions. That he wouldn't figure out that she was embarrassed and confused about her feelings for him.

"Yes, master. It might take me a few weeks but I'll get your intel."

She had left, as usual. Entering the battlefield without a doubt. She would be his spy.

She had gotten his intel as requested. It had only taken her five weeks. She had expected it to be six weeks but luck was on her side. Unfortunately, her luck had ran out shortly after. On her way back to the palace she had started to feel violently sick. That was odd. But no need to worry. Maybe she had consumed foul blood. That could happen.

She had gone to the nearest inn so she could get some rest and appear in a decent state in front of Alexander. She couldn't let him think she was weak. The innkeeper had been a woman. A mortal woman. The wrinkles were visible and she spotted a few grey hairs. At least she was friendly and the visitors of the inn seemed to be mixed. Some were humans but others were vampires like her. Probably because this was an inn in the middle of nowhere. People were just passing by, just like her plan had been. But plans changed.

The next day she had woken up sick. The day after she was still sick. It took her a week until she realised it. She had woken up after sunset and thrown up for what felt like the hundredth time. Damn it. Not again. She had consumed fresh blood. She had made sure of that by requesting the innkeeper to bring her the freshest blood she had. She should be getting better by now. She had slept in and was consuming more blood than usual so she would regain her strength. Wait... Shit. Sleeping more than usual, throwing up, consuming more blood than usual. And she and Alexander had...
She turned paler than usual and threw up for the second time that day. Her hand had been shaking as she carefully placed them on her belly. It was no longer flat. It was barely noticeable but a slight bump was starting to form. Something was growing inside her and Alexander had been the one to plant it there on the night that they had gotten drunk.

"Fucking hell!" She had been said it for a few days now. She had still been at the inn. She had know that she had to face Alexander soon but first she had to be calm again. She had never been this freaked out. This was scarier than entering the battlefield. Motherhood. This wasn't planned. Definitely not with this man. Vampires rarely conceived. Rumour had it that it could only happen if there was true love between them. How on earth had that bastard impregnated her during a one night stand?! Wait, wait, wait. No. Maybe this could be a good thing. He had been in control for a long time now. This time she had something over him. She could be the one in control. She rubbed her stomach with a grin. "Offspring, it's time for you to be useful instead of ruining my plans."

That had been the beginning of her plan which had resulted in her moving in with Alexander. Now she was confused, pregnant and still scared of what was happening with her body.
