"Nicki, I have to tell you something and you won't like it." Alexander said. She looked him in the eye and nodded, curious to what he had to say. She was still mourning but this sounded really important. She didn't want to make Alexander delay it, in case he would change his mind.

"When I transformed you into a vampire you lost the memories of your human life." She already knew that. Why was he bringing it up now?

"The truth is, that happened because of me. I've wiped your memories after you were turned." She blinked at him and then frowned. What? That didn't make any sense. Alexander continued to speak when he noticed that she wouldn't say anything back.

"I've wiped them because you had suffered so much as a human. I wanted to give you a fresh start. To take away all of your pain. I should never have done that. I realised that ages ago but by then it was already too late. You had already built a life for yourself. I didn't want to ruin everything you've worked for. I've never regretted something so much as that day. That was until the day of the attack. I- I..." Alexander started to cry as he continued to talk.

"I've violated your trust. The trust you put in me when you were a human and the trust you've put in me ever since you were a vampire. And I did that because I was selfish. Because I only thought about what I thought what was best for you. I never asked your opinion about it." Rage. She felt rage. How dare he to decide that for her and to lie to her for centuries! She slapped him in the face. The sound echoed through the room. Alexander looked shocked at her but didn't do anything to defend himself. He knew that he didn't have the right to.

"You dirty bastard! YOU TOOK AWAY MY LIFE! YOU TOOK EVERYTHING AWAY WITHOUT ASKING ME ANYTHING! MY LIFE! MY MEMORIES! YOU RUINED EVERYTHING BECAUSE YOU WERE ONLY THINKING ABOUT YOURSELF!" She slapped him again. A guard ran into the room but Alexander raised his hand as a sign that he had to stand down.

"Leave us. No matter what you hear, you won't enter the room again until one of us leaves. This is between the two of us." The guard narrowed his eyes but left the room without saying a word.  Alexander looked at her again.

"You have the right to be mad at me. To hate me. But first I want to do the right thing. I will return your memories and then you can do whatever you want. Is that alright with you?" Nicki was surprised by his offer but didn't hesitate when she gave him her answer.

"Alright. Do it." Alexander used his compulsion as she had seen him do on others. Her memories returned in flashes. She touched her head and groaned. It was chaos in her head and it was hurting. She felt sick. She didn't know if it was because of Alexander or because of the memories.

"We're not done yet, but for now I want a break. I don't want to see you in this room until I summon you." Nicki said to him. With that she left him alone in the living room. She dove in bed and slept, hoping that would fix some of the pain she was currently feeling. She would be sleeping restless, with so many memories returning.
