Sylvie: (arriving at the scene, addressing her colleagues) Sorry I'm late, everyone. We had an unexpected situation to deal with.

Erin: (concerned) Is everything okay, Sylvie?

Sylvie: It's... complicated. Jake and I were discussing custody arrangements for Julie, and things got heated.

Antonio: (nodding) We understand, Sylvie. Family matters can be tough.

Sylvie: Thanks, Antonio. Anyway, what's the situation here?

Adam: We've got a homicide. The victim is a prominent local businessman.

ylvie: (professional mode) Alright, let's focus on the case. We'll deal with everything else later.

Erin: (noticing Sylvie's phone buzzing) Sylvie, your phone is ringing again.

Sylvie: (distracted) Yeah, I've been getting a lot of calls lately. Probably Jake.

Antonio: Everything okay with you two?

Sylvie: (sighs) We've been going back and forth about Julie's schedule. It's been... challenging.

Kim: I can imagine. But remember, we're here for you.

Sylvie: Thanks, Kim.

(As the investigation continues, Sylvie becomes increasingly absorbed in her work, inadvertently missing several of Jake's calls. After a particularly long day, she finally takes a moment to check her phone and realizes the missed calls from Jake.)

Sylvie: (to herself) Oh no, I missed so many of his calls.

(She quickly dials Jake's number and waits for him to answer.)

Jake: (answering the phone) Sylvie?

Sylvie: Jake, I'm so sorry I missed your calls. We've been swamped with this case.

Jake: It's fine. I've been busy too. Listen, I've been spending more time with Julie since you've been occupied. She seems okay with it, actually.

Sylvie: (surprised) She is?

Jake: Yeah, she said she wants to spend more time with me for a while.

Sylvie: (reflecting) Maybe that's what she needs right now. Some stability with you.

Jake: I'm glad you understand. We'll figure this out together, Sylvie.

Sylvie: Thanks, Jake. And tell Julie I love her.

(As Sylvie hangs up the call, she realizes that Julie's desire to spend more time with Jake might be a positive thing for her during this challenging time. The reassurance from Jake eases some of the tension that has been building.)
