Once upon a time in a house in a small village lived a little boy named Jackson who lived with his mom named Veronica and his stepdad named Jack. Jackson was 7 years old with blonde hair, blue eyes and extremely skinny. When Jackson was only two months old his biological dad Jeff passed away in a bar fight. Now he was a little small for his age but was also very athletic he was the fastest boy in his class but he also had a secret that no one knew about not even his parents knew about. That secret was that he had super fast speed, he wanted blood, and he could speak to animals now he knew no one else in his family did. Jackson plays on the soccer team for his school the South Side Vipers. One Thursday Jackson and his parents went to one of his soccer games it was the South side Vipers against the Basilisk. During the game while the Vipers were up 3-0 one of the players for the Basilisk ran into one of Jackson's teammates and his nose started bleeding. Jackson smelled the blood and with his eyes wide open and fear on his face took off towards the bathroom. His mom Veronica saw this and ran after Jackson worried about her son while Jack ran to check on the kid with the bloody nose. After finding her son sitting by the bathroom crying she knelt down in front of him and asked him what was wrong. Jackson looked up at her and told her about his secret. Veronica smiled and told him that his father was the same way before he died she also told him that it was time for him to go to a different school that was filled with children like him. Jackson asked his mom what his abilities meant and she told him that she had fallen in love with his dad who was a vampire just like his dad was and to keep him safe he has to leave to go to a school with other vampires. Jackson looks at his mom with tears in his eyes and tells her that he is not going he wants to stay here with his friends and family. They stop talking about his dad and abilities as Jack appears and tells them that Jackson is needed so they can finish the game. They all return to the soccer field and Jackson resumes playing with his team who end up winning against the Basilisk 4-1. The coach decides to take the Vipers out for ice cream after the game. Jackson rides with his parents to the ice cream parlor without saying a word to his parents lost in thoughts about what lays a head for him now that his mom knows about his abilities and why she wants to send him away to a new school away from his friends and family. Jack notices that Jackson is being quiet and tries to find out what is going on. Veronica snaps at Jack and tells him to leave it alone knowing that if he finds out the truth about Jackson's abilities he would leave her and try to kill her son because he was one of the men that killed her husband Jeff she refused to allow him to take her son too. She knew she would have to convince Jackson to go to the school across the country in order to keep him safe but she does not know how to do that without making Jack suspicious or making her son think that she does not love him or want him around anymore. The truth is that she loves her son more than anything in the world and always wants him around but what she wants most of all is for him to be happy and safe far away from her new husband Jack. While at the ice cream parlor Jackson orders a double chocolate ice cream cone and goes to sit with his best friend and teammate Mark. He tells Mark how he thinks his mom does not want him around anymore because she wants to send him to a different school. Mark tells Jackson that he will help him show his mom that Jackson should be able to stay here and not be sent away. The boys finish their ice cream and head towards their parents after promising each other that they will figure something out and that no matter what happens they will always be best friends. Jackson gets in the car with his parents without looking at or saying a word to them thinking that maybe it's Jack's idea that he be sent away because he is always complaining about how much Jackson eats, they are always taking him somewhere and always stuck spending Thursday evening at a soccer game. Once arriving home Jackson climbs out of the car and rushes off to his room without a single word. Veronica sighs and decides that she needs to talk to Jackson to tell him the truth about his dad and why he needs to go to that school. She turns to Jack and tells him that she needs to go talk to their son and that she wants to do it alone while asking him to start dinner. Jack agrees thinking that maybe their son is thinking about his father and that Veronica would be the best person to talk to him. Veronica heads to Jackson's room while Jack heads to the kitchen to start dinner. As she walks into her son's room she finds Jackson sitting on his bed drinking a bag of blood. She quickly closes the door and asks Jackson if they could talk. Jackson agrees to talk to as long as she agrees to tell him everything she knows about his father and why she wants to go to a different school. She sits at the end of his bed and says "I met your father when I was 17 and he was 18 we both went to South Side High and quickly fell in love with each other at the time I did not know that he was a vampire we started dating just before school ended. After 6 months of us dating your father told me the truth about him being a vampire he thought I would leave him but I stayed because I saw him as a kind living person and not as a monster that everyone else saw him as. A year later we got married and had you. I met Jack at the bar I was working at one night going on about how vampires kill people after being with someone for 2 months. That's when I spoke up and told him that he was wrong and that I had been with your father for 2 years and had a son. Jack got so enraged and threatened me now your dad's ability was to be able to feel when I was in danger so he rushed to my side which enraged Jack more. Before I could stop it your dad and Jack started fighting the next thing I knew Jack pulled a stake out and stabs your father in the stomach and pushed the stake all the way through killing him. Since then Jack has been keeping an eye on you to see if you have any vampire abilities so he can kill you too." She then tells him that the only way to keep him safe is for him to go to the school for vampire children. Jackson looks at his mom with tears in his eyes and tells her that he's not leaving her alone with the guy that killed his father and that he will keep his abilities hidden from Jack until it is no longer possible to do so.
