Chapter 5 Arriving At Mountainview Academy

Upon arriving at Mountainview Academy Jackson gets out of the helicopter and is greeted by a man who knows his name but he does not recognize this man. The man leads Jackson into the school and into his office. Once in the office the man closes the door and points to a chair telling Jasper to take a seat. Jackson takes a seat then asks the man "Who are you? How do you know my name? What is your role here?" The man answers him by saying "My name is Jeff. I am your father that is how I know your name. I am also the headmaster of Mountainview Academy just like your grandfather was headmaster before I was." Jackson looks at him in disbelief saying "My father is dead. He died when I was two months old in a bar fight." Jeff responds "No I wanted Jack, Arthur, Matt and your mom to think I was dead the stake that Arthur and Matt gave Jack to use on me was meant to go through my heart but Jack was only able to stab me in the stomach with it I knew that if I did not fake my death you and your mom would be in danger. When I found out that your mom married Jack when you were 2 I had Mark's dad Joe and Josh's dad George keep an eye on you to make sure that you were safe." Jackson then gets up from his chair and hugs his dad before saying "I missed you everyday and mom still does miss you she is not safe with Jack we both need to protect her I have Mark and Josh keeping an eye on her but Mark is not safe either because of me." Jeff nods and responds "I have that taken care of already but if you want to help protect them then you need to start your training tonight at midnight until then you should go unpack your belongings and make your room the way you want it which is 394." Jackson nods and leaves the office and heads to his room on the third floor wondering how others will react when they find out that he is the headmaster's son and what lays ahead of him for his training in order to protect his best friend and his mom who he misses deeply but knows that this is what is best for all of them for now. As he reaches the door to his new room he notices that his hearing is more intense and he can hear every talking even with their doors closed he can also hear someone in his room so he carefully opens his door to find his new friend Josh from the vampire sanctuary in the room unpacking his things and rearranging half of the room. Jackson smiles as he enters the room and heads to his side of the room before saying "I am glad you are here Josh and thank you for telling me that I would find answers here." Josh responds "I only knew because my dad was assigned to keeping an eye on you and told me that if I met you at the vampire sanctuary that I needed to convince you to come here so you could be reunited with your dad but I knew you would not believe if I had told you that he was alive so that's why I said you would find out the truth." Jackson nods knowing that if anyone had told him that his dad was alive he would not have believed him because of the fact he grew up with Jack and his mom raising him. He begins unpacking his things and rearranging his bed, dresser, desk, and chair to where he wants them in silence thinking at least 1 person is ok with me being the headmaster's son. He just wished he could talk to his mom one last time and let her know that he's safe across the country and made it to the vampire academy just as he sits on his bed he notices the phone on his desk and decides to call his mom. Remembering what his grandfather told him that all calls placed from the academy to the human world come up as the sheriff's office and that he needs his mom to know that he is ok. He picks up the phone and calls his mom knowing Jack is out looking for him. Veronica answers the "Hello sheriff any like on finding my son yet?" Jackson is confused for a second then realizes that another vampire hunter must be at the house waiting for him to call so he responds "ma'am are you alone we have something to tell you." She responds "no officer I am not alone but you can tell me what ever it is I am sitting down." Jackson looks at Josh with tears in his eyes and Josh automatically knows what Jackson is planning and goes to stand with him and puts a hand on his shoulder. With a heavy heart he says "ma'am I am sorry to inform you that your son's body has been discovered with a massive stomach wound he unfortunately didn't make it." Veronica let's out a breath she did not realize that she was holding before asking "officer are you sure it's him? Is there a way for me to identify the body?" Jackson responds "Yes we are sure it is him he has the birth mark of a star on his neck that you described to us and unfortunately with the stomach wound and the fact his body was found in the woods his face is unrecognizable." With those words Veronica hangs up the phone and breaks down before looking at Matt and says "your hunt for Jackson is over that was the sheriff's office they found his body in the woods with a stake in his stomach he did not make it." Matt nods before going to the phone and calls Jack and Arthur to let them know that the sheriff's office had just called and told Veronica that Jackson is dead. Meanwhile back at the Academy Jackson is sitting on his bed with Josh trying to hold himself together since he just had to lie to his own mom in order to protect those that he cares about the most.
