After hearing her son words Veronica stormed out of the bedroom and went into the bathroom to cry. When Jack notices that neither Veronica or Jackson have come down for dinner, he calls for them letting them know that dinner is ready. Veronica comes down but Jackson yells down to them that he is not hungry and will not be coming down to join them. Veronica then yells to him that if he does not come down then Jack will be coming up to get him. After hearing that Jackson reluctantly comes down and joins his parents for dinner but refuses to talk to his mom. He eats his food in silence then heads back to his room. Once back in his room he gets on his computer and messages his friend Mark telling him that he knows that Jack murder and that he has to stay here to protect his mom and that if anything happens to him that Jack killed him. Mark responds asking him why Jack would kill him and how he knows Jack killed his father. He responds by telling him the truth about his father and his abilities. Mark then asks Jackson to meet him at the local park and warns him to delete his messages before leaving. Jackson does as Mark suggested then heads to the park to meet Mark. Once at the park Mark informs Jackson that Jack is actually a vampire hunter who will stop at nothing to see all vampires are destroyed and begs Jackson to consider going to the school his mom wants him to send him by telling him that he will look after his mom and that nothing will change their friendship. Jackson tells Mark that he cannot leave his friends and family knowing that Jack is responsible for his fathers death and knowing that Jack wants his kind dead. Mark tells Jackson that he will help keep his and his mom safe from Jack the best he can but makes Jackson promise that if Jack finds out the truth about him then he has to leave and go to the school for vampires before Jack can kill him. Jackson promises Mark that he will but insures Mark that he will keep his secret from Jack as long as he can. Mark and Jackson then decide it was time for them to go home before Jack gets suspicious as to why Jackson was out of the house so late. As soon as he gets home Veronica asks him where he was and he responds cold that he was at the park with Mark he also informs her that he told Mark the truth and that Mark is on his side and will only leave this town if he has no other choice with that he heads to the bathroom to get ready for bed as he passes Jack he says goodnight dad like he does every night before going to his room for the night because he does not want Jack to think something is up he also does not want Jack to enter his room and discover the truth about his secret. Once he enters his room he quickly closes the door and heads for the hidden compartment in his closet where he keeps he's O positive blood for him to drink. After drinking the blood he lays in bed thinking about everything he found out that day and tries to figure out his next move now that he knows that he lives with a vampire hunter knowing that his life will be in danger if Jack finds out the truth about him. The next morning after Jack has left for work and before Jackson heads to school Veronica goes to Jackson's room in hopes to convince her son to reconsider going to the school for vampires and getting out of town before the vampire hunters find out about him. Jackson tells his mom not to worry about the vampire hunters finding out about him because he will not let that happen. His mom then points out that they live with a vampire hunter and that life is in danger the longer he stays there. He shrugs it off like it is no big deal, grabs his backpack and heads outside to catch the school bus. Once on the bus he finds a seat next to Mark and sits down he proceeds to tell him about the conflict with his mom that happened that morning. Mark proceeds to tell him about what he discovered about Jack and how he thinks Jackson is in more danger then they both originally thought and that with him and Jackson's mom protecting Jackson are putting themselves in danger too because in Jack's eyes those who protect vampires are equally guilty. Jackson promises Mark that he will not let anything happen to his best friend or his mom but he cannot leave just yet. He wants to find out who was involved in killing his father. As they arrive at school and get off the bus Jackson gets a feeling that he is being watched he tries to shake the feeling of but he was unsuccessful. He gets inside the school and looks around wondering who else was watching him and who else is a vampire hunter that killed his father. He starts to realize that if he drinks blood, talks to animals, or runs at his full vampire speed in public then his secret will be exposed. He tells himself that no one else will know he will find a safe place for him to drink blood and talk to animals as for his running he will run everyday at soccer practice using half of his vampire speed then after his parents are a sleep he will sneak out of the house and go to the woods to run at full vampire speed. After school him and Mark head to the soccer field for practice Jackson is distracted by the feeling he has and his thoughts which causes him to miss 3 of the goals he usually makes. The coach asks him if everything is ok and he tells the coach that he is just tired. Once practice was over Jackson and Mark went to Mark's house to see what else they could find out about Jack and the other vampire hunters. Jackson tells Mark about how feels like someone is watching him. Mark things that Jackson might be overreacting but he can not be sure given everything they have found out about Jackson, his father and Jack. They spend the next 2 hours looking up information on Jack and other vampire hunters. The boys discover that their couch and principal are also vampire hunters. Mark looks at Jackson with wide eyes and says "I really think you should leave town now it is to dangerous for you to stay not with your stepdad, our coach and our principal all being vampire hunters." To which Jackson responds "I know it is dangerous for me to stay but I need to know who else was involved in killing my father and who else wants me and my kind dead." Mark nods in agreement before looking at the time and realizing that it Jackson is not home in 5 minutes Jack will get suspicious given the fact that Jack thinks Jackson is a vampire like his father was but is unable to prove it just yet because Jackson has yet show any vampire abilities in front of him. Jackson rushes home before Jack can notice that he is late coming home. Veronica stops Jackson as he enters the house and asks him where he has been since after practice to which he responds by telling her that he was at Mark's house and that she needs to stop worrying because no one else has discovered his secret not even the other two vampire hunters that he is around daily. Veronica gasp in fear and with wide eyes pleads with her son to leave town before its to late and find out the truth. Jackson climbs the stairs to his room and yells to his mom "They will only find out the truth if we let them which I do not see happening anytime soon so please stop worrying." He gets to his room and looks around before sighing knowing he is putting people in danger by staying but he needs to find out the truth about his father's death and who helped Jack kill him. When Jack first comes home from work he calls for Jackson thinking that if his son is a vampire and has started to show his vampire abilities then he would not be home yet he would be out hunting. Jackson comes to the top of the stairs and looks at Jack with a grin saying "I will be down in a minute for dinner." Jack frowns and wonders if he is wrong about his son after all no other vampire hunter have reported that Jackson as shown any signs of being a vampire so maybe just maybe he is human like his mom and Jack. Jack walks up to Veronica and tells her that he wants to have their son involved in the family business of vampire hunting. Veronica smiles and tells him that it is a wonderful idea not wanting him to know the truth about their son. He then decides to go up to Jackson's room to talk to him about becoming a vampire hunter.
