The Vampire Boy (Book 1)

Chapter 8 Training Grounds

After hearing his father's words Jackson decides that he needs to train hard for the war that is heading his way that other vampires are fighting. He picks up his katana telling himself and his father that he will do what he needs to do to protect everyone around him. His father smiles and his "I know you will do what you think is best for this community. Your mom, grandparents and I are right behind you and whatever you decide." Jackson nods before going full force at his dad to begin his closet combat training. Jeff starts giving his son tips on how to hold the katana and on his stance so that way he can hold his own in battle along with having the effectiveness and confidence he needs. As daylight approaches Jeff decides to call quites to give Jackson a break and tells him to meet him back here at midnight to continue his training. Jackson heads back to his room holding his katana close to him thinking about everything he has learns about his destiny and trying to figure out how he is going to protect his family, friends and the other vampires. He arrives to his room to find Jim, Josh, Mark and John waiting which confuses him. Mark speaks up and says "We heard that your destiny is to lead the vampires in the war against the vampire hunters to avenge your family and to protect other families from being torn apart the way yours was and we want you to know that we have your back and stand with you against the vampire hunters." The other 3 nod in agreement which makes Jackson happy knowing that he is not facing this alone and he promises them that he will train everyday until he turns 15 which is when they will all have to leave the academy for the next part of training so that they can be well prepared for the war that is brewing. Mark and John promise to study the past war against the vampire hunters to see what they can learn while Jim and Josh also promise to keep training so that way they can also help with the war. It becomes clear to all 5 of them that their destinies are all intertwined now that they have met the one Commander Kevin R. Parkerson had mentioned and the next commander. Jackson heads in his room after talking to them and lays on his bed completely lost in thought trying to figure out how he will lead the vampires into a war that he does not want to happen but he also wants the vampire hunters to stop hunting him and his kind. Mark and John watch Jackson with concern not knowing how he feels about everything he has learned before heading to the library to do some research on the war that took place in 1870 to 1900. He decides that instead of trying to figuring out what he needs do that it is best to take action and for him that means training harder then ever and making his family proud because if he remembers correctly Commander Kevin died from a vampire hunter that didn't agree with the treaty between vampires and the hunters which caused massive conflict that is now reshowing it's self because of the fact vampires are finding their mates in the human world instead of with other vampires. He does not fully understand why Jack and the rest of the hunters seem to hate vampires but he is determined to but a stop to it. As he looks at the calendar by his bed he notices that his birthday is only 2 days away but with all the preparation that is needed to be ready for the war he decides to skip his birthday to train. He leaves a note for Mark and John telling them that he wants to skip his birthday before grabbing his katana and heading to the gym to train some more before he has to go to the training grounds to meet his dad there for his next part of his training.  As midnight approaches he heads to meet his dad like he was instructed but on the way to the training grounds he gets a feeling that danger is close by and heads towards the woods. Upon reaching the woods he realizes that vampire hunters are close by the only reason why they can't spot the academy is because the vampire who created the academy had a power that made the school undetectable by those who are not vampires or those who seek to hurt vampires. He quickly sends out a signal for his dad and friends to let them know that vampire hunters are closer than they thought and that everyone needs to get to safety while he deals with them. Before Jackson has a chance to approach the hunters by himself John on his left side in wolf form and his father is on his other side ready to fight. Jeff looks at his son and says "Do not worry my boy your mom, Mark, Josh and Jim are taking care of the school. John and I are not going to let you face these hunters by yourself." He nods and carefully takes out the hunters with his dad and John's help. After taking care of the hunters the 3 of them head back to the school to let everyone know that they are safe and to put a game plan in place in case someone comes looking for the 5 hunters that they just killed. Once back at the school Jeff holds a meeting and says "No one is to leave the building alone and that the woods are strictly off limits." Jackson also adds in "I am the headmaster's son and it is my destiny to protect this community but I cannot that if you do not follow the rules that my father your headmaster has put in place these new rules have been put in place to protect you from the vampire hunters. My father, John and I had to kill 5 of them tonight because on my way to the training grounds I sensed that hunters were near by so I approached the woods to find them right outside our boarder." The other vampires gasp before agreeing to the new rules and thank Jackson for his dedication to the vampire community and his bravey from tonight.
