Chapter 7 Training begins

The young blonde man stops in front of the gym before turning to Jackson saying "I will be your trainer and the name is Jim." Jackson nods in response unable to find the right words. They head into the gym where there are all different kinds of weapons to choose from along with dumbies to be practiced on. Jim looks at Jackson and informs him that he will choose 3 weapons and the one that he is able to destroy the most dumbies with in 10 minutes will be his main weapon to use when in battle. Jackson walks over to the table and grabs a katana, a longsword and gladius because he has always been great with swords. He then heads over to the dumbies and waits for the timer to begin. Jim watches Jackson carefully as he picks his weapons and writes down that Jackson prefers close combat like the ex headmaster and current headmaster showing that he is a Parkson by blood and that the blood of the  Commander Kevin R. Parkson. Who was known for his close combat during the vampire against Vampire hunter war in 1870-1900. Kevin R. Parkson stated before his death that when the vampire hunters decide to reattack the vampires someone from his blood line will find it is their responsibility to defend them. Could Jackson be that someone from Kevin's blood line only time will tell. Jim tells Jackson to begin with the longsword and that he has 10 minutes to destroy as many dumbies as he can. Jackson starts destroying the dumbies with the longsword. After 10 minutes Jim commands him to stop and counts the dumbies which are only 6 dumbies destroyed. He then tells Jackson to use the gladius next. He grabs the gladius and starts destroying as many dumbies as he can before time runs out. Once the 10 minutes up he stops so Jim can see how many dumbies are destroyed and there are only 12 dumbies destroyed. Jim then has him use the katana to see how he does that. When Jackson grabs the katana he instantly feels like the katana is part of him and starts destroying all the dumbies he sees. In less than 5 minutes he has destroyed 150 dumbies so Jim has him stop and tells him that the katana is his weapon of choice. Jackson confesses that the katana felt like a part of him while the other two did not and it was easier to control. Jim then remembers that Commander Kevin used a katana during the war so maybe it is possible that another was coming and that Jackson will be the key to ending the war but he keeps all that to himself knowing that no 7 year old can handle that kind of pressure and right now all Jackson needs to focus on is training and finding those that will help him grow along with making sure that he is safe. Once the weapon of choice is done it is time to learn how to use the weapon of choice more effectively so that when it is time for battle the user can fight with more confidence. In Jackson's case that meant learning how to use the katana more effectively so that way he could have more confidence. Jim informs Jackson that it was time to learn how to use the katana more effectively and have more confidence when using the katana and the best person to teach him how to use the katana would be the headmaster himself and that he would find the headmaster on the training grounds to the South. Jackson nods and heads towards the training grounds wondering why his father is the one teaching him how to use the katana and what this means for the war that he feels brewing. As he reaches the training grounds he sees father using the katana and realizes that he must have picked the same weapon his dad did at his age. At the training grounds Jeff smiles when he sees Jackson and says "glad to see you pick the same weapon as many of your relatives has now that here it is time I tell you what your abilities mean. "You have probably noticed that since arriving here that your hearing has increased, that you can feel something coming along with all of your other abilities. Your great great great great great grandfather is commander Kevin R. Parkerson and he predicted that one of his relatives would be the ones to lead us into another war against the vampire hunters. Your grandfather and I believe you are the one he was talking about now tell me son what you feel." Jackson replies "well father I have noticed that my hearing increased. I can also feel that a war is brewing and that I feel useless because I cannot use my katana effectively to avenge our family and keep other families from being torn apart the same way our family was." Jeff nods before saying "then it is time for you to learn because you are the only one who can lead us in this war against the vampire hunters. It is your destiny my son."
