Chapter 4 The Journey to the vampire school

As Jackson reaches the edge of the vampire sanctuary he pumps into someone. Jackson quickly apologizes and explains to the man that his mom told him about this place and that he is looking for a vampire named Steve. The man smiles and tells Jackson "look no further young man I am Steve I am guessing that you are Veronica and Jeff's son Jackson." Jackson nods unsure what to say. Steve takes Jackson to a house near the woods and explains to Jackson how he knew his parents. Jackson asks if there is away from him to call his mom without his call being traced because he does not want his stepdad to know where he is. Steve nods and points to a phone and tells him that the number will come up as an officer calling them. After hearing that he heads to the phone to call his mom. Veronica answers the phone asking "Jackson is that you? Did you meet Steve yet? Are you safe?" Jackson replied "yes mom it is me. Yes I have met him. Yes I am safe at the vampire sanctuary. Mom listen to me please I left a note in my room it is in my closet in the hidden compartment where we kept my blood hidden from Jack." Before she could answer her son Jack came in the room wanting to know who was on the phone so Veronica quickly answered "I understand thank you Officer." She hangs up the phone to Jack and informs him that after talking to Mark and John they still do not know where their son is because he did not tell them where he was going. Jack nods and leaves the room knowing that since their son's secret is out he left town to find a safe place to hide he just does not know where that would be. Veronica heads up to her son's room and straight to the closet. She pulls the note out which carefully unfolds and reads it. "Mom if you are reading this it means that I had to leave because Dad found out my secret. I want you to know that John knows about my secret and that he will keep you and Mark safe until I return but neither one of them knows where I am which is best for all three of you. I will be going to Alaska to one of the many vampire schools there but I will not say which one. I love you and I will return as soon as I can. Signed your son Jackson Parkerson." Upon reading her son's letter tears began forming in her eyes but she knew she had to stay strong for her son and keep this letter far away from her husband. Meanwhile back at the vampire sanctuary Jackson is busy making friends while trying to figure out what vampire academy he wanted to attend. His opinions where Bear Mountain Academy, Panorama Academy, Mountainview Academy, and Springfield Academy. While talking to his new friend Josh he learns that if he goes Mountainview Academy he will discover the truth about his father's death and who was responsible for it. Jackson decides to do some digging on Mountainview and learns that his father and grandfather used to go there. He decides that since his father's family seems to have connections there that he will attend Mountainview so he rushes off to find Steve to find out how to get there. Jackson finds Steve hunting in the woods for blood for all the other vampires he informs Steve what academy he has chosen. Steve smiles and says "That is awesome Mountainview Academy is located in Alaska and in order to get there you have to go to the nearest vampire village which is about 7 miles south of us there you will find a family that has a private helicopter and will be able to take you there." Jackson thanks him for his help and for being so kind to him. He then takes off heading South wondering if what in store for him on his next part of his journey to Mountainview. As he leaves the vampire sanctuary he wonders who else will decide to come to Mountainview with him. Hoping he will see his new friend Josh there at his new school. He felt uneasy as he through the woods getting closer to his destination. When he reaches the vampire village he looks around for the house with the helicopter. As he spots the house with the helicopter he slowly approaches the house unsure how they will feel react to showing up. When he arrives at the house and knocks he recognizes one of the pictures hanging up on the wall that he can see through the window. A man answers the door and automatically recognizes Jackson and yells inside for his wife saying "Honey our days of waiting for our grandson to enter the vampire community has come to an end." The woman comes running from somewhere inside the house and looks at the boy on the porch and asks him "Are you Jackson Parkerson the son of Jeff and Veronica Parkson?" Jackson nods then asks "Who are you? How do you know my mom's last name from her first marriage? How do you know my father and why do you have a picture of him hanging up on your wall?" They tell him that they are Jeff's parents making them his grandparents. Jackson hugs them both in responds before asking them "Grandma or grandpa can one of you please take me to Moutainview Academy?" They both looks at each other before the man responds "of course I can I am glad to see you following in mine and your father's footsteps." Jackson and his grandfather head out to the helicopter to take off towards Alaska for Mountainview Academy. Once in the air Jackson sits there with a smile on his face wondering what adventure lies ahead of him. For the first time in forever he finally feels like he belongs and that he does not have to hide his abilities and can truly be himself.
