Saki woke up to a bright day, and who else but Tsukasa to greet her.
"Good morning, Saki!!!" His boisterous voice echoed around the room, and to Saki's surprise, didn't wake up Toya.
"Good morning, Tsukasa!!!" Saki decided to copy his voice, and greet today with excitement instead of worry. Today relied on Rui, and his power of robotics and electronics. Saki ate quietly and watched Rui as unsuspecting as possible. She knew she needed him alone, after all they both had questions to answer. They excuses themselves from the table and went up to Saki's room, and the true battle begun. Saki closed the door behind them, and sat down. Rui did not speak, but Saki could feel the tension from him. She learned body movements from the hospital visits. She was there so often she could tell when bad news was coming. Saki stared at Rui, inhaled, and spoke.
"What do you want to talk about first? Your machine, or the SEKAI?" Saki could tell Rui was thinking, and it only made her worry more.
"Your SEKAI first. I have a lot of questions about it." Rui's time felt colder than usual, but Saki knew the circumstances were reasonable.
"Fire away, Rui." Saki prepared for the quick fire questions Rui is known for when he asks teachers questions, so she knew to be as fast, if not faster at answering.
"Is it one person or multiple?"
"Multiple."
"What's it based off of?"
"School."
"Are the Virtual Singers there?"
"Yes."
"Is it big?"
"It's the size of a classroom."
"Who is allowed in it?"
"All of Leo/Need."
"Can you take people into it?"
"Can you?"
"Good point." Saki had won. Now, she just needs to learn how that machine works. "What does it do, anyways?" She saw a malicious smile spread across his face. He pulled a flask out of his back pocket, opened it, and put it over his head, above his mouth. Small, colorful pieces of candy spilled out of the flask, and he ate all of it. Saki could hear the carbonation from the soda candy. She knew he was going to explain it in full detail.
"I'll put it in simple terms, after all you want to know why it works. The machine has three main components, the first main component is the camera, in the front. The camera is used kinda like a filming camera, with more steps in it. The camera records the footage and puts it onto a wire that connects to your phone. Then the data gets send to another one of your phones, and the second wire collects it. The second main component is how the data gets stored. I had a friend of mine, with some knowledge on how software works, to make an app that can collect the data from the camera, and send it automatically to the other phone, with not even a push of a button. The best news is that it takes mere milliseconds to go from thing to thing, so it would feel like there was no delay to your audience. Also, it's quite lucky there's internet in the SEKAI, otherwise I would have to set it up manually. The last component is the projector, and is the most important one. The projector takes the data, and turns it into the several separate frames shown in a video. That video gets put on the pane of glass I set up beforehand, and surprise, surprise. Leo/Need is almost like they're there. That's also how the Virtual Singers sing, in a non-SEKAI fashion. Any questions?" Saki felt confused, but she knew it was she wanted to learn.
"Where did you put it?" Saki needed to learn the machine's location so she could set everything up.
"Oh, everything's already set up, except for the app download and the camera placement."
"Huh!?!" How did Rui know where to put them? "T-thanks. Sorry for doing all this to you, but you know why I did this, right?"
"You overheard us, and you were worried. You wanted info, and you talked to me. It was understandable, I would do the same." Saki saw bags appear suddenly from Rui's eyes. That much caffeine in that little time isn't good for anyone. He crumped like a piece of paper flung into the ocean. Saki threw the last sleeping bag she had in her closet onto him, opened the door outside, and left the room. She felt free from this, but something kept nagging her. She was worried about Toya. She walked down the stairs, and watched Tsukasa and Toya talk for a little bit before making herself known. She was worried for him, and she wanted to help, in any way possible.
