Just to clarify, I've never read Journey to the West.
But if anyone knows any websites I could read it on,
or an even an Audiobook, please let me know.
Y'know, for research purposes.
I've only ever watched Lego Monkie Kid, One Piece and the first few seasons of Dragon Ball.
I'm gonna use the First Chapter of Wukong's origin for flashbacks.
Hope that's okay with you guys.
Okay, on the Prologue.
⚠Warning, Angst⚠
Also, try to imagine the voice of Catra (She-Ra reboot) speaking through this version of Macaque.

Deep within the recesses of Five Phases Mountain, Sun Wukong, the mighty Monkey King, found himself imprisoned.
It was not just any prison, but one forged by celestial forces as punishment for his audacious assault on the Celestial Realm.
Wukong, fueled by his fear of mortality, had always strived to be stronger and more immortal, but his relentless pursuit had led him down a path of rebellion and chaos.
"Stupid Celestials! Think they can keep me here forever?" Wukong raged.
"I'll get free, eventually!" In the back of his mind, he knew that this was a futile thought.
Just then, a figure emerged from a shadowy portal.
It was the Six Eared Macaque. Real name, Liuer Mihou, or just Liu for short.
Sun Wukong's mate and Queen of Flower Fruit Mountain.
She is a tall white-furred Monkey with cool tan brown skin and has a feathered purple marking across her blue eyes with a prominent wing and bushy white eyebrows.
Liu also has a scar over her right eye, leaving a gash through her eyebrow and the iris almost white.
It was from her battle with Erlang Shen during the Brotherhood's revolution.
"Hey, Peaches. I got you a little something." The female macaque said with a smile, approaching Wukong and offering him a Peach.
Wukong, pretending to be surprised and grateful, couldn't resist mocking Liu.
"What?! For me?! You're not serious, that whole peach is for me?! Oh Plum, you shouldn't have."
His mate gave him a deadpanned look. "Okay, you don't have to be so 'you' about it." She responded, sitting down beside him.
"No, no! Honestly! This is exactly what I need right now. I'm trapped under a mountain but the Six-Eared Macaque brought me a peach. Hurray." He jested, his voice still dripping with sarcasm.
Liu rolled her eyes at Wukong. Her partner's humour can be very aggravating.
"You know I'd help if I could." She told him, her voice sincere.
"Oh, sure! 'Cause normally you just rush to my rescue!" He scoffed.
Liu glared at Wukong and then gave off a heavy sigh and returned her gaze to the ground.
"Yeah, okay... I don't need to listen to this," She said, exasperatedly as she got up and started to walk away.
"Well, it was great seeing you, Plum! Just run off like you always do." Wukong added.
At that statement, Macaque stopped dead in her tracks and turned around to glare daggers at the King.
"No, that's you!" She snapped angrily. "You're the one who's always running off! Looking for more power, more sources of immortality!"
The monkey Queen was not wrong.
Ever since her beloved King's obsession with gaining immortality, he hadn't really been around much to help take care of his people.
Or even spend time with Liu.
As for Liu herself, she had been left with the task of taking care of their subjects.
She had grown accustomed to being alone, and when she met Wukong again, all she wanted was his company.
And Wukong was just as happy to reunite with his charming Queen.
But it seemed things were never meant to last for too long.
"You're the one who wouldn't quit while we were ahead! Not the Great Sage, he's gotta drag everyone else into his mess!" Liu shouted.
"You're not in this mess! You're still free! Everything I did was for us!" He yelled back.
"You did it for yourself. You become like this... obsessive demon!" Liu roared, the ground shaking from her rage. "I told you going up against the Jade Emperor was a bad idea, but no, Wukong doesn't listen to anyone. He just does whatever he wants! You put yourself here, not me." She finished.
Still held in her large palm, Liu squeezed the peach before tossing it to the ground, causing it to splatter. She then blends into a shadowy portal and disappears, leaving the Monkey King alone.
"Fine! Leave! See if I care, you big-Aaah!!" A moment of silence passed, before soft sobbing can be heard from him. "Wait, Liu! I'm sorry...please come back! Please,"
But she doesn't.
With his head bowed, the male Monkey begins to weep softly. "I'm sorry Mac, I'm so sorry." He muttered to himself in a low voice.
The tears finally began to run down his cheeks, his sobs increasing until he drifted off to sleep.
Meanwhile, back on Flower fruit mountain, Macaque had entered Shuilian Cave.
She is still crying, her vision blurry due to tears falling onto the ground.
Gathering around her, all looking concerned and confused, the smaller less anthropomorphic monkeys attempt to comfort their Queen, reassuring her with soft chirps and purrs.
Macaque sniffles. "I'll be alright... little ones" She said quietly. "I just need time to heal..."
And with that said, the Monkey Queen once again vanishes back into shadow, reappearing into the master bedroom, belonging to Wukong and herself.
She straight away climbs into bed and buries her face into her pillow, her cries coming out muffled.
After an hour or two passes, she too falls into a deep slumber.
