Gandalf and I walked back to the party. I see the dwarves all gathered around the fireplace. They start singing a song of their homeland.
'Far over the misty mountains cold
To dungeons deep and caverns old
We must away ere break of day.
To find our long-forgotten gold.''The pines are roaring on the height
The winds are moaning in the night
The fire was red, it flaming spread
The trees like torches blazed with light.'It was a simple song. I have never heard it before in my life.
Once they are done singing the song everyone headed to bed.
The next day
I wake up on the floor. My weapons resting against the wall. I look around to see that the dwarves are still asleep. I get up and start to get ready to go. I head to the bathroom to change into my gear. (Above or beside. With dragon necklace) Once I am ready I wait for the others to wake up.
By the time that they all wake up, it's time to go. We all head out and I whistle for my horse, Starflower. My horse is a black horse with a star.
I get onto Starflower and wait for the others to get on. After everyone is on their horse(or pony) we head off. After a little bit, Fili and Kili say,
"Want to place some bets, Lindariel?"
"Sure." I say.
"10 coins say that Bilbo doesn't come."
"Agreed. I say he does."
That starts a whole round of bets. In the end I have a bet with Kili, Fili, and Dwalin. Ten coins each.We continue walking along on our horses until we get to a forest and I hear some small feet running along, thumping on the ground.
"Stop." I say.
"What is it?" Asked Thorin angrily.
"Listen." I say. We all stop and listen to someone trying to catch up to something. Suddenly we hear.
"Stop! Stop! I signed it."
It was Bilbo. He held the contract in his hand and was running towards us. I looked at Fili, Kili, and Dwalin and smirked. Bilbo showed the contract to Balin who then said,
"It seems everything is in order. Welcome Bilbo Baggins, to the Company of Thorin Oakenshield."
Thorin looked at Bilbo and said,"Get him a pony!"
Bilbo started to protest when Fili and Kili went up behind him an lifted him onto the pony.
After we went about the journey. I was riding beside Gandalf and Bilbo when the money started to be passed around. Bilbo asked,
"What are they doing?"
"They made bets, Bilbo." I replied
"About what?"
"About if you would come or not." Gandalf said.
"And what side did you two bet on?" He asked.
"Us?" We said. Four bags were thrown our way. All caught with great hand-eye coordination.
"We didn't doubt you for a second." We said to the halfling. We continued on our journey, I moved up to where Fili and Kili were and started a light conversation with them. Suddenly we heard,
"Stop! Stop! We have to turn around."
All of the horses stopped.
"What on earth seems to be the matter?" Asked Gandalf.
"I seem to have forgotten my handkerchief." Bilbo said.
"Here use this." Said Bofur and he ripped off a piece of his shirt and handed it to Bilbo. We all laughed and Thorin said,"Move on."
Later there we were all stopped on a mountain to get some rest for the night. I watched as Bilbo got up and gave his pony an apple. He then heard a sound.
"What was that?" He asked.
"Orcs." Said Kili.
I started to think of Azog. I know that he is still alive, filthy beast. I could faintly hear Balin tell the story of Thorin slicing off Azog's forearm and how they defeated the orcs on that day on the Blue Mountain ridge. Slowly, I fell asleep and slept until the brightness of sunlight.
The next day, there was a heavy rain fall where we all got soaked to the bone. I had my cloak on as we rode through a forest.
I heard Gandalf start talk about the 5 wizards in this world. I started to think about those five. I personally thought that Radagast was a fun person to be around. Lover of the forest and a bit crazy but also very serious when needed be. I heard Bilbo ask Gandalf,
"What kind of wizard are you?"
"What ever do you mean?" Replied Gandalf.
"Well," said Bilbo," are you a good wizard or are you more like him?"You could see that Gandalf took offence to that question and replied,
"I think Radagast is a brilliant wizard, in his own unique way. He seeks company in nature more than people."
Bilbo nodded. I thought about Radagast, I haven't seen him for about 3 years when I was travelling around. It was quite peaceful around the woods he lived.
Later, we reached this broken down farm house that looked destroyed and burnt. Thorin exclaimed that we would stay for the night. I had a bad feeling about this place and apparently, so did Gandalf.
