The next morning, Laenaera woke up. She stretched out on the bed and looked for something between the sheets. When she didn't find it, she got up suddenly and checked the room.

Rhaenyra was not there.

Laenaera cursed her dear cousin in the thought of her, she assumed that the king did not know where Rhaenyra was since when she went in search of an answer the king had said that perhaps she was reading under the tree.

The eldest had gone in search of her princess and had not found her, she ran in search of Alicent and she did not know where she was either, the brunette had to restrain her friend from riding Scarletmoon in search of Rhaenyra.

During the day Alicent and Laenaera lived together, they had not seen each other for a long time. From time to time Laenaera remembered the moment she had had the night before with Rhaenyra, Alicent had to wake her from her little daydreams where she imagined being like that again with her cousin.

Alicent had smiled almost all day, she felt good to be with her friend again, the brunette had insisted that they should continue with their lessons even without Rhaenyra, so they were both under the big tree, Alicent had the book on her legs. and Laenaera kept her head leaning on her friend's shoulder while she played with one of her friend's hands. Unlike the princess, Laenaera had studied everything well and responded to everything correctly, Alicent smiled proudly when she heard her answer correctly.

"Have you heard the rumor that the king is taking another wife?" Laenaera asked as she intertwined her hand with the hand of her friend.

Alicent tensed up because of that.

Leah sighed and stroked the back of the young Hightower's hand. She did not know what had happened with the walk between her sister and the king, she had seen little of Laena and she understood that they would stay there until the king chose a new wife.

"I heard... He's getting engaged to Lady Laena." Alicent said.

Laenaera snorted.

"My father insists on that union. Did you know that I was the first option? But the king was smart and rejected it, he only agreed to walk with Laena to calm my father"

Alicent found it somewhat amusing to see her friend angry but she was also worried, neither Rhaenyra nor Laenaera knew that Alicent was visiting the king in his chambers, she had planned to tell Laenaera and perhaps she would help her so that Rhaenyra would not react so negative.

They spent the rest of the day together, ate together and even went to visit Scarletmoon who seemed comfortable in Alicent's presence, the brunette had refused to approach the dragon and Laenaera had even offered a dragon egg to the young Hightower. Alicent was scandalized by that possibility.
