It was the day, the day of the tournament for the king's new heir.

About a week had passed since that... Incident? Maybe it was, they didn't know. Despite what had almost happened, none of her mentioned it again, even so Rhaenyra had tried to approach her that way again but every time she tried Alicent appeared in the shadows.

Daemon had arrived a few days ago, and as he had always caused disturbances, Rhaenyra had run to Alicent and Laenaera to tell them what had happened as soon as she found out. Laenaera did not consider that action an atrocity, in her opinion it was fine and all the Velaryons did. They believed this while the court did not, for Leah those at court were only fat, bald lords who cared more about the wine than the care of the city and the king seemed to be at the mercy of all of them.

Laenaera had met Daemon a couple of times and every time she saw him he offered her a smile that she couldn't decipher, when she was ready to talk to him, he disappeared and she didn't see him again until the next day, strange. The young Velaryon had gone in the company of Rhaenyra to visit the queen on a couple of occasions, the three of them, or sometimes four when Alicent joined them, discussed names for the future baby. The younger ones claimed that she was going to be a girl, they had even chosen names.

Rhaenyra had chosen Visenya.
Laenaera had chosen Aerea.
And Alicent had refrained from saying a name but under pressure from her friends she dared to say one; Helaena.

The queen had thanked all the names and when it was her turn to say a name the king appeared through the doors and the young women were almost kicked out of the room.

The young friends would all get ready in the same room, Rhaenyra would wear a red dress with black and gold decorations, a dress worthy of a Targaryen. Laenaera would be wearing a navy blue dress carrying her family's surname aloft; Velaryon. Alicent had opted for a blue dress one tone lower than Leah's, the eldest of them all had claimed that her friend wore a dress of that color because she wanted to match her. They had to stop Rhaenyra from changing her dress to match them.

The tournament was about to begin, Alicent and Laenaera were the first to leave while the servants finished helping the princess get ready. Upon arriving at the royal box, each one went with her family, Laenaera approached her parents and kissed each one's cheek, after she approached her brothers and left a kiss on each one's head, Laenor squeezed her hand and made her sitting next to him, she smiled when Alicent took a seat next to her.

The king rose from his seat and spoke.

"Today is the most glorious of days and I will share some news...", his speech stopped when Rhaenyra arrived at the box and took a seat next to Alicent, "Queen Aemma has just gone into labor!"
