By the time Taylor had added the unknown number to her contact list, she had already received a response.

Travis Kelce: I guess I'll have to put out a statement that I have no further complaints

Taylor Swift: You actually don't have to do that, I was just kidding ;)

Travis Kelce: Thank god.

Travis Kelce: I dont think my brother would ever let me live that down

Taylor Swift: I'll be honest my brother would probably be mad if he knew I was talking to a Chiefs player.

Travis Kelce: Oh I guess we will have to keep this under wraps for now then...

Taylor Swift: I believe that can be arranged.

It seemed like a small thing for most people, but ensuring that people she talked to didn't go straight to the press was more important for her sanity than she cared to admit. It seemed like any detail about her life was important enough to be plastered across headlines the next day. She had to keep her trash cans inside the garage because too many people had rummaged through them, as if the brand of toilet paper she used was really that interesting.

When she returned her attention back to the conversation, Travis had already responded, and as she typed out another message she couldn't help but smile at the thought of the man typing back.

Travis Kelce: I know it's terrible timing but I do have to get back to practice

Taylor hadn't even realized that he was probably at practice camp still and was definitely busy.

Taylor Swift: Of course! Wouldn't want to distract you.

He probably doesn't want to talk to me that much anyway.

Little did she know that was the farthest from the truth possible. It physically pained Travis to set his phone down and return to the team, but he was starting to get yelled at. He would stop practically any other activity to get the opportunity to talk to her, but his multi-million dollar contract convinced him to postpone until later.

Unfortunately on Taylor's end, she also had lots of work to do. The last 6 shows of the first US leg of the tour were starting in a few days and she had lots of coordinating left. In the next week she was filming a movie and announcing another re-recorded album - she didn't have the time to be distracted. However as she found herself sitting cross-legged on the couch responding to the mass amounts of emails she received, her mind wouldn't stop wandering to the man.

Travis was in the same situation. and for the next few days the two found themselves constantly checking their phones for notifications from the other. Granted, with both their schedules, they were rarely able to text at the same time, but they both enjoyed getting short recaps of the other's day.

Taylor Swift: I can't lie, with the shows being in LA it is nice to be able to go home each night.

It was the night before the first LA show, the last location for the first leg of the tour, and she was excited for a few reasons. Despite how much she loved it, she had been in a different US city every weekend for the past few months. It was also nice to have her parents staying with her for the week. She hated how empty the large house felt when it was just her there.

It only took a few seconds for him to respond.

Travis Kelce: I heard youre doing six shows this week?!

Taylor Swift: I'm not exactly sure how it happened

Taylor Swift: We basically kept adding dates because of demand 😀
