Hey guys. Okay, so I got really caught up in school and was attempting to NOT get into summer school because now I have a job, I'm a youth advisor AND I have to get scholarships for colleges. So yeah, however, I'm updating today! And possibly tomorrow since my laptop is coming back from the shop. Fingers crossed! Okay, enjoy.

. . . .

Katya quickly jumped out of bed and stared wide eyed at her mother, back at Elijah's sleeping form, then back at Elijah.

"Um, mom. This is Elijah. My..." Her tongue felt heavy in her mouth, she couldn't form words. What even is he to her. A friend? Boyfriend? Lover?

No, just mate. Just this crazy weird bond keepingb you two together.

Yeah, just that.

Just then, Elijah stirred. He grunts, grabbing at the space where Katya once laid. "Babe..." he sits up, rubbing at his eyes. "My Luna, come to bed."

"LUNA?! Katya, you better start talking right now!"

Elijah's eyes snap open and he looked at Katya's mother confusingly. "And who may you be?" He asked, his voice heavy and warm, making Katya smile. Until her mom started talking.

"I should be asking you this, since you're sleeping with my daughter."

"Mom!"

"I'm the Alpha of this pack. And she's my mate."

Her mom's hands went to cover her mouth. "Mate?" She whispered. "Katya why didn't you tell me you had a mate? This is something I need to know!" Her voice was laced with tears, even in the dark room she could see her mother's eyes getting misty.

This upset her further. Not only didn't her mother barge in here, always getting emotional and switching up so quickly, making Katya feel bad but also she's was always blaming Katya and always demands the truth when she's the one who's been lying.

"I wasn't going to tell you. You were gonna figure it out. Just like I had to figure out why dad and my brother really left. Or how all your powers were given to me because I wasn't gonna die. Or how I'm not only a witch but also a freaking wolf. I just found all of this, on my own yesterday. I found out that there are people who I don't know, trying to kill me. That my boyfriend, ex, of four years has been abusing me and I tried to deny it." Katya could feel Elijah trying to stop her but shrugged of the hand on her shoulder.

"All of this, I did without you. You won't let the past go to help me. You missed my graduation and never helped me with anything. I had to do this by myself, ma! So sorry I don't feel like should tell you anything!" She hissed.

After a moment or two, she realizes how harsh she sounds. She knows her mom isn't well. Fuck, she's the one who took her to the hospital. "Mom, I'm sorry-"

She mom lets out a wet laugh. "It's alright. I'll b-be downstairs."

She opens the door and as she does, Oliver and Charlie fall forward, stumbling to stand up. Katya's doesn't pay them any mind, just stares at the spot where her mom once stood.

"Haven't you been told that eavesdropping isn't polite?" Elijah speaks up and Oliver and Charlie nods quickly, leaving Katya and Elijah to themselves.

Katya finds her faces in her hands. "I'm a terrible person. The worst."

"No you're not, you're just stressed."

"I just basically told my mom she's a liar and to fuck off. I'm awful."

"Hey, look at me." She does and he takes her face into his hands, rubbing over where her dimples would be. She notices and it instantly makes her smile. Elijah grins himself. "There's beautiful smile, cherí." His whispers and she blushes.
