. . .

¥Katya¥

After sitting in silence after her little episode, Katya offers to make breakfast. As a thank you. For putting up with her. Elijah attempts to decline but she literally pulled him down and sat him in a chair, telling him to stay there. He pouts and dammmit.

He looked like the world's sad puppy she's never seen in her life. He then smiles, small and confident, pecking her on the cheek before saying he'd take care of the coffee.

She waited till she got in the shower to smile, even squealing a bit. She's never, even with Duncan, have been so giddy being around someone. Elijah was just so chill. And strong and confident. And nice. Things that she found extremely attractive.

However, she can shake of the feeling that something is wrong. Tell her she's over analyzing but her gut feeling has the uncanny ability of being right most of the time. Just like her mom.

But she don't actually know what could be wrong with him. At this point: nothing. And that's the problem. He can't be perfect. Or even if he is, nothing is ever perfect for her.

. .

She ties her wet hair on top of her head as she padded down stairs. The smell of bread filled my noise and she could smell vanilla creamer.

"Oi! Didn't I say I'd cook?" She questions as he puts a plate of beef sausage on the plate.

"You took too long."

"Did not!"

"Darling, just come sit and eat." He says, pulling her chair out. "Please." He says after another moment.

She pretends to be annoyed, crossing her arms. "I guess. Since you're nearly begging me to eat with you." She says sarcastically, slumping in her chair.

His eyes wrinkled as he chuckle and she feels an odd tingles in her stomach, moving to the birthmark that lies on her side. It hasn't felt like that since the little girl called Elijah daddy. She doesn't even know why it tends to feel like that.

"Aren't you a little young to have a kid?" She says this before she really thinks about it. To her, she sounded incredibly harsh and bitter. And she didn't even have a reason why.

Elijah doesn't answer. He chews he food thoroughly and pauses. "She... isn't my child per say."

She motions with her hand for him to continue. Usually, she tries to see hints when I need to back off. To stop prying. But something like this she needed to know desperately.

"I had a girlfriend. Dated her since I was seventeen. Then she got distant right after freshmen year of college. Then she told me she was pregnant. But we didn't have sex so it wasn't child. I was furious of course, demanding who was it and why would she did this to me. She said she found someone, her... soul mate. I just accepted it. She left with him and that was it." He paused, hands tight on his mug. He took a sip, eyes on her the whole time. He's never looked so intense.

"You don't have to go on if-"

"No. This is the good part." He smiles and Katya does too. "I was twenty years old and definitely enjoying college life. I get a knock on the door in the afternoon or something. There is my ex and Maxwell. My little Maxwell. She was like... a year already. I still remember how small she was. Premature. I spent time with her until I ask her why was she here. She didn't get into specifics but told me she couldn't keep the child. She said she only trusted me to take her in."
