"So whoever this person is wants to suck the witch and werewolf powers out of me to make themselves stronger?" Katya asks, her eyes on the road as her hands gripped the steering wheel tightly.
"Not exactly. They probably want someone bigger than just you killed. They will use you, torture you and gain ransom or something. Exract all you're powers by draining your blood and consuming it. Maybe they'll mix it in with theirs and boom. Strongest supernatural to be live. Probably reek havoc. The world changes forever. And if they don't kill you? Who knows." Caleb explains, tapping away on his phone.
"That sounds absolutely disgusting and morbid." Charlie says from the back of the car.
"I second that." Katya says as she pulls up next to Elijah's house. Or pack house is what Charlie calls it. She needed answers. Ones the Caleb couldn't explain. She doesn't know how to feel about this whole wolf thing. It still shakes her to her very core. And she isn't being dramatic. Her uncle would be disappointed. He always taught her to keep her emotions at bay, never let anyone know what you're feeling. And Katya knows she's a mess right now.
"Ay Katya, deep breaths remember? We won't let anything happen to you, alright? Just listen, okay? To what ever he has to say. And I know you don't know what to do with Elijah he won't hurt you. I can promise you that." Charlie grips her shoulder as she takes the key from the slot.
"Okay, okay. Listen to what he has to say. Got it." She chants this all the way to the door and halfway inside until she hears a blood curling scream.
"Alpha! It's happening again!" He hears Tyler shout and stomping footsteps going down the stairs. Women and children are being pushed to go to what Katya assumed to be the basement.
"Wolves." She hears her brother grunt. "Stay here-"
"No. No, no, no, hell no. You will not keep me in the dark any longer. I've been taking care of myself since dad left. And I can keep doing it too." She huffs and turns, going to where she just saw Oliver run to the back door. It's outside on that large field where Zara's baby shower was held. There she sees three large wolves. She thinks why couldn't there just take them down like they did at her house but then she sees it.
Maxwell.
She has blood smeared on her face and in her black hair. Her dress was covered in it and she had no coat on, violently shaking. Katya can't tell if it's from the cold or fear.
And something snaps in Katya. Kind of like a light switch or something. She was warm, angry. Her hands were shaking more than usual but she wasn't nervous nor scared. Caleb notices this and he tries to grip her shoulder. "Kat? Sis, what's up?"
She snatches her hand away, walking out into the field. "Katya!"
She turns around and her eyes immediately caught onto Elijah. His jaw is set but he has worry lines all over his face. Her eyes are sharp and nearly changing color but he couldn't tell because she turned back around.
When she got to a certain distance she pauses. She takes a deep breath. "Let her go."
The two wolves crowd closer to little girl and she whimpers. The leader, she guesses comes her way, growling. She lets out a noise of her own and balls up her fists. "I said. Let. Her. Go!" She slams her foot into the ground and in that instant the ground turns up, lifting the wolves into midair and throwing them away from Maxwell. The ground rumbles and shifts everyone in its wake. Katya quickly runs past the girl. Her body is working on its own will and she doesn't actually know what she's doing. She's just... doing it.
