Wysteria and Loki had been reading books (well, mostly Loki read them to her) the rest of the day as he taught her history of Asgard, explained customs of Asgard and traditions, and explained things about his brother, and his parents.
Loki had expected, as usual, that she'd be more interested in hearing about the glorious god of thunder, and all he'd accomplished. Most people did, especially the women...

"Look, everyone knows who Thor is and all. Technically everyone knows you I suppose, since you kinda sorta gave yourself some bad rep, yeah? Well, I wanna know everything about you. And I want to understand your perspective of things."

Loki stared at her, slightly taken aback. Not many people cared about him, his reasons, or really anything about him.
"Really?"
Wysteria's lips spread into a wide smile as she nodded her head vigorously, placing her chin onto her hands as her elbows rested on the table.

Loki smiled and said, "Right, well, okay... Let's see, I guess we could start with the fact I'm not even asgardian."
Her eyes widened slightly, her smile still there.
"I am actually, uh... Well, I'm a frost giant."

He flinched, expecting her to be scared or hate him instantly. He had shown her the frost giants in the book, and after reading she surely knew how terrible they are.

But as he looked at the white haired girl, he realized her stormy eyes never strayed from him, her smile never faltered.
"Really," she asked, wishing to see him as he truly was born to be.

And though Loki was apprehensive at first to do such a thing, he took a deep breath.

Wysteria watched in wonder and awe as his pale skin turned blue and his beautiful green eyes turned red.

He watched her carefully, awaiting a volatile reaction of fear and disgust.
But instead of running off and screaming, she stood and walked over to him slowly. He watched her and remained ever still, not sure what she was doing.

She slowly reached her hand out, and carefully traced the intricate marks on his face. He was ice cold, so cold in fact that most who touched him would instantly shy away.

But she did not feel the cold as most people did. Her natural warmth shielded her from the freezing affects of his frost giant body temp.

She found him to be beautiful as both a frost giant and as an asgardian. He didn't frighten her or repulse her.

As her hand warmed his cheek, the blue slowly faded away, and his green eyes returned as they bored into her's.

It almost pained him how pure and innocent she was, because he knew he wasn't those things no matter how much he wished he were.

Her hand slowly fell away from his face, though her eyes did not leave his.

He felt fear pulse through him as he realized he craved her touch once more. This was dangerous, especially for he, the trickster. He who could not love nor be loved.

He knew he should save her the time and pain now, before either of them would be too caught up to understand the situation they would undoubtedly be in.

"We should probably go see about dinner," Loki whispered, trying desperately to save her from himself.

She could sense feelings radiating off of him that were hard to distinguish, yet she knew them instantly. The quiet desperation in his whisper told her everything she needed to hear- everything she felt was in his voice at that moment. The longing, the fear, the need... Some of the most dangerous things a person could feel.
