Alright, so there's this laboratory that goes by the name of "Laminax." On the surface, they're just another (albeit advanced) tech lab, but that's just a front for what they really do. Y'see, a couple years ago, they accidentally discovered these strange creatures that they dubbed "gootraxians." Not even the scientists know exactly where they came from. Some say it was a freak accident involving a whole mess of chemicals, others say they came from deeper inside the Earth, while others say they came from space. Needless to say, the first theory was best-received. Nevertheless, the scientists wasted no time twiddling their thumbs, and immediately got to work experimenting on them. But, they were always careful to keep this whole thing a secret from the public, and decided to cover up their operations by opening up a division based on the research & development of robotic prosthetics. Why prosthetics? They get a ton of funding from donations and the like, mostly thanks to rich people who wanna look good on social media. Anyways, at this point in time, some one-armed 18 year-old is looking into getting a prosthetic at long last. Did I mention that he also happens to be this story's main character?
