Chapter 10: Kenric

Chappie 10!!!!

Kenric and Niko stood face to face, looking intensely at each other. As they stared, Kenric felt a sudden itch in his left eye and instinctively blinked. Niko immediately seized the opportunity and chuckled, "Haha, I won!" while smirking at Kenric. Disappointed, Kenric pouted, realizing that he had just lost their little staring contest.

"Okay, now go ahead," Niko said, gesturing towards Kenric. Kenric pouted even more, clearly not happy about what he was about to do. Suddenly, he blurted out, "MOM!" Sophie, Kenric's mother, came running up the stairs, clearly concerned. "Yes?" she asked, looking at her son. Kenric took a deep breath and confessed, "I failed all my classes." Sophie's face turned red with anger. "WHAT?!" she shouted, clearly frustrated. Niko, who was watching the scene unfold with amusement, chuckled and added, "Yup, every single one of them!" Kenric looked at Sophie with a hint of fear in his eyes. "No more sleepovers," she said, clearly disappointed. Kenric gasped and quickly said, "It was a prank!" Sophie was taken aback for a moment before exclaiming, "Wha-" Sophie shook her head, "Darn you Keefe, passing on the prank genes!" Sophie grumbled to herself as she walked out of Kenric's room, clearly not amused by the situation.

Niko cast a sidelong glance at Kenric, who was pouting. "I hate you," he muttered, clearly in a bad mood. Niko couldn't help but smirk at his friend's dramatics. "Yeah, right," he said, not taking Kenric's words seriously.

Suddenly, there was a loud shout from upstairs. "KENRIC! DAWN AND KAYA ARE HERE!" Everlie's voice echoed through the house, clearly audible from where they were. Kenric's expression changed instantly, and he bounded up the stairs. "OKAY!" he shouted back, excitement replacing his earlier sulkiness.

Niko let out a long-suffering groan, but Kenric grabbed his arm and pulled him towards the stairs. "Come on, Neeks," he said, grinning. "It'll be fine."

As they reached the top of the stairs, Dawn and Kaya's voices grew louder. "Hey Kennie!" they exclaimed as they entered. Kenric's grin widened. "HI Dawnie and Kayak," he said, clearly pleased to see them.

Dawn suggested that they head upstairs to Kenric's room, and everyone quickly agreed, excited for what was about to unfold. The group ran up the stairs, their footsteps echoing through the house and their laughter filling the air. However, their joy was short-lived as Oralie stepped out of her room, covering her ears, and politely asked them to quiet down. Niko brushed off her request, responding with a sarcastic "Um, no?". Oralie, unfazed by his comment, shot back with a glare and a challenge, "You mean yes?". Kenric, who didn't want to fight, intervened and promised to try and keep the noise level down. He then took Niko by the arm and led him into his room, where Dawn and Kaya were already waiting.

As soon as they entered the room, Dawn suggested that they play a game of truth or dare. Kenric and Kaya readily agreed, but Niko, eager to avoid the game, attempted to slip away. However, Kenric caught him by the wrist and insisted that he stay to play. Dawn then explained the rules and the game began, with each person taking turns to answer a truth or perform a dare, "Okay, let's get started!" exclaimed Dawn, turning to Kenric. "Truth or dare?" she asked him with a sly grin on her face. Kenric hesitated for a moment before replying, "Dare."

Dawn's eyes lit up with mischief as she thought of a daring task for Kenric to complete. "I dare you to scream super loud outside of Everlie's room!" she announced, unable to contain her amusement. Kenric's heart sank as he realized the magnitude of the task he had just agreed to.

Despite his nerves, Kenric got up and walked over to Everlie's room. He took a deep breath before letting out a deafening scream, "EVERLIE! YOUR BOYFRIEND IS HERE TO SEE YOU!" The sound echoed down the hallway, causing Niko to burst into laughter, while Dawn giggled uncontrollably.

Suddenly, Kenric heard thumping from inside the room, and the door flew open. "KENRIC! SHUT THE MALLOWMELT UP!" Everlie screamed at the top of her lungs, her face contorted in anger. Kenric couldn't help but smile, feeling a sense of accomplishment, despite Everlie's furious reaction. "Don't scream!" he said, still grinning at her, but Everlie just rolled her eyes and slammed the door shut.

As Kenric walked back to the group, he could hear Dawn and Niko laughing hysterically. "She did NOT appreciate that!" Niko said, still chuckling. "Oh, Kenric, you really outdid yourself this time," Dawn added with a grin. Kenric just shook his head, swatting Niko playfully, who swatted him back with a grin. "Okay, my turn!" Kenric was leaning forward, his eyes sparkling with excitement. He couldn't wait to resume the game they had started earlier. "Okay, Niko, truth or dare?" he asked eagerly. Niko stopped laughing and looked at Kenric, trying to guess what he was going to say next. "Um, truth," he replied, feeling a little apprehensive. Kenric pouted, disappointed that Niko didn't choose to dare. "You're no fun! Do you have a crush on anyone?" he asked, hoping to get some juicy gossip. Niko turned red, feeling a little embarrassed. He knew that the others were listening intently. "Maybe," he said, trying to play it cool. Dawn's eyes lit up, and she leaned forward, eager to hear more. "Oooooh, Neeks has a crush!" she exclaimed, unable to contain her excitement. Kenric grinned mischievously and teased Niko, who glared at him, feeling a little annoyed.
