moonlit lovers
"And then he kissed me. He kissed me with all the power he could muster, making up for all the years, months,, weeks, days, minutes, seconds, our chapped lips hadn't been touching. And finally, finally, it felt like my world was no longer burning around me."
"I have wonderful news," I said with a smile as I watched Garou adjust his things in his satchel.
It was night, and I thought I'd take him out to eat after his shift ended. I was seated on my motorcycle in front of the bright lights of ICHIROU, the restaurant where he worked. I watched as he adjusted his bag, brought it to the front and then sat down on the pillion behind me.
"What's that?" he asked.
"I'm not gonna be kicked out of the Hero Association and my class and rank are intact!" I squealed.
He chuckled and ruffled my hair until it looked like a bird's nest. "Good for you," he said, with a little smile, "Now, let's go. I'm hungry."
"We're gonna have a celebration!" I exclaimed as I put on my helmet and revved the engines of my motorcycle.
As I rode, he put his arms around my waist as usual to keep himself from flying off at over a 100kmph. I just found one thing a little different; he was holding me tighter against himself like he didn't want to let me go. I could feel his entire built chest pressing against my back and his built arms squeezing my waist.
Focus! Focus!
Thankfully, we soon reached the restaurant I wanted to take him to, and I was glad I rode fast because I was sure to hyperventilate if he held me any longer. It made me feel so jittery and fluttery and so happy that I couldn't stop blushing for a long time.
To be honest, I've been wanting to ask him to be my boyfriend, and I figured tonight would be a great opportunity. Even though both of us felt the same for each other, I thought I'd be more confident to ask, but just being around him is making me so nervous!
"Hey, you good?" he asked as we sat down at a table across from each other.
"Yes!" I squeaked in surprise, "Yes, I'm fine."
He cocked a brow at me but decided not to ask any further.
We ordered our meals and had a conversation over them as Garou ravenously ate. He told me about his day, how good and bad it was, how he had been finding work lately, how annoying grandpa has been lately, and what-not. I smiled. He sure loved to complain... but his face was beaming like he was actually liking what he had been thrown into.
It was great and all, but I didn't get a single chance to ask him if he wanted to date me. I drained some energy looking for breaks in the conversation so that I could ask, but I found none. Garou was unusually chatty today, but I didn't mind, since he usually wasn't much of a talker.
At the end of our dinner, he patted his stomach contentedly. "The food's great." he grinned, "We should come again."
We. I was internally screaming. He already thinks we're a unit! This is a good sign! I hope I'm not delusional though.
When I had paid for dinner, we headed out and stood in front of my motorcycle.
"Do you wanna take a walk in the shopping district?" I asked.
