SWEET
Another day, another slay.
With another satisfying day of hero hunting, I found myself snoozing on Tenrou's bed, while she was busy making some dinner in the kitchen.
I was just about to fall asleep when a loud shriek snapped me back to reality. Huh? What's going on?
I got up and sauntered out of the room relaxedly, wondering what could have frightened the high ranking A-class hero so. As soon as I stepped out, I saw Tenrou out of the kitchen door, cautiously peeking inside and squeaking.
"Hey, woman, shut up. What're you screaming about?" I asked.
She looked at me. I saw that her brows were furrowed and her hand was trembling like a leaf in the wind. Her sweat-dripping face was deathly pale like a newly washed white bedsheet, and her teeth were chattering.
"G-G-Garou!" she shrieked in a hoarse voice, "Th-Th-Th-Th-"
Man, what a horrible stutter. What the hell's freaking her out so much? I held up my hand to keep her from speaking; she looked queasy just trying to tell me about it.
"In the kitchen, right?" I asked, and she nodded hastily.
I hummed. It's definitely not a monster since the place isn't destroyed yet. I peeked inside the kitchen and didn't find anything weird. I then stepped in and inspected the counters and the stove top and... ah, there it is.
It's a cockroach.
"You're scared of roaches?" I asked, looking over my shoulder. I only heard a strangled squeak from her as she peeked inside.
"Hand me a newspaper." I walked backwards and stood at the door. She grabbed a newspaper from the stack on the table and handed it to me, not daring to look at me.
I raised my hand. She flinched. Her arms came over her head as if to protect herself.
"Hey, woah, what's up with you? Are you seriously that scared?" I asked, genuinely surprised as my hand came down on her head to give her a pat.
She was silent. Her arms came down and she looked at me, her eyes still expressing fright. This girl, really, I was seriously surprised. She's usually so brave, never flinching if anyone attacks her and yet, she's deathly afraid of a cockroach. What would happen if she came across a monster that looked like a roach?
Either way, I gave her another pat on the head and then walked inside the kitchen.
Now, time to catch the dastardly roach that's scaring the shit out of Tenrou.
I rolled up the newspaper and had my eye on the roach, which was chilling right next to the stove. In Tenrou's defence, the roach was pretty big and kinda freaky. Understandable why anyone (except me) would get scared.
I first turned off the gas. I raised the paper and slammed it straight down on the roach.
Gotcha!
I lifted the paper and saw nothing.
Are you kidding me?!
"On the cabinets!" she shrieked, diving away from the kitchen door, since the overhead cabinet was right next to it.
I slammed the door of the cabinet right where the roach was. I pulled away the paper, and yet again, it was nowhere. I growled loudly and looked around.
