PROPOSAL
"I still remember you as a little girl who overwaters plants because she doesn't know when to stop giving."
"You two will be the monsters while Tacchan will be Justiceman!"
Tenrou and I looked at each other. She asked, "Why are we the monsters? We want to be the heroes too!"
"No way! There's only one hero and that's Justiceman! Tacchan will be him, but you and Garou will be the monsters because both of you have similar names. You both will be a pair of wolf monsters."
"Wolf monsters..." I pursed my lips, about to cry. I hated the sound of that. I didn't want to be treated like a monster.
"Wolves are the bad guys!" they insisted.
"We're not bad guys!" she continued to protest.
"Be quiet!"
Justiceman ordered his henchmen to hold us down. When we were held down on the ground, Justiceman put each of his foot on our faces, saying "Justiceman Kick!"
"You two make great monsters!" said Tacchan after the school bell had rung, signaling us to get back to our classes.
Tenrou and I, soiled and dirty, walked away to our class as we dusted ourselves. I was on the verge of tears and I tried to hold back, but a sob escaped my lips. Tenrou immediately held my hand and squeezed it.
"Tacchan is really mean, isn't he?" she asked. I nodded, sobbing again.
"Don't worry, Garou, you're not alone." she said. I felt her other hand wipe my tears.
She was my only friend.
My eyes fluttered open.
What the hell? Why did I dream of this?
After I came across her, I couldn't stop thinking of her and the past. Obviously the reason why she showed up in my dreams. But damn, do I hate thinking of the past.
I sat up on the couch in my lair, still thinking of the dream. They seriously put us together and made us a pair of monsters because both our names had the character for "wolf", huh? And how differently both of us have turned out. She became a hero, and I became a monster.
I ruffled my hair and clicked my tongue as I tried to banish the thoughts and the dream from my mind. It had been a few days since I last saw Tenrou. We left our brawl unfinished. I guess I should look for her today.
There was a knock on the door.
"Who's there?!" I yelled.
"Aye, easy on the volume, Hunter!" called a woman's voice outside as the door rattled open, revealing her dressed in a t-shirt and a pair of cargo pants. A surgical mask covered her nose and mouth. "It's me, Tenrou!"
Lucky! My prey came straight to me!
"What are you doing here?" I asked calmly as I brought my feet down to the floor and reached for my compression shirt which was right next to my feet.
