The school year was wrapping up and the students were putting in their best efforts, studying hard to ace their class tests and complete their assignments. They were determined to secure excellent assessments to complement their examination scores. Nsiah and Kwaku were study buddies and started spending more time together during break time. Joel felt left out so he decided to complicate things between them.

In the Classroom
Bring your science assignment to my office. Mr. Mubarak said as he was leaving the classroom. Nsiah realised that her assignment was missing. She was very worried about the consequences of not being able to turn in her assignment. She asked Joel if he took it from her bag.
"No, oh sure, why not ask Kwaku?"   he sarcastically suggested.
Even though she had doubts about what Joel said, knowing Kwaku's nature she still went to ask him.
"Have you seen my assignment?" She asked.
"Do you think I took your assignments from your bag?" He questioned
"How did you know it was in my bag?" She asked.

Kwaku's POV
From a distance, I saw Nsiah and Joel talking about her assignment missing from her bag. I was having a divided attention while I was talking to John , I couldn't help but listen to Nsiah and Joel's conversation about her assignment.  Then I saw her walked up to me with her facial expression clearly showing that she was thinking I had something to do with it.
"Have you seen my assignment?" I stared at her in disbelief all I could say was " Do you think I took your assignment from your bag?".
It was disheartening for her to question me again especially about how I found out the assignment was in her bag.
I was about to explain that I overheard she and Joel talking about it then she dragged my bag from my seat and opened it forcefully then....
I was shook to the core when she found her assignment in my bag!
I was confused about everything and I tried to explain to her that it wasn't me but she gave me a disappointing look while she walked away.
Then I noticed Joel smirking at me which gave me a clue that he had something to do with it.
I didn't go after her I wanted to wait when it was closing so that I could explain my suspicion of Joel being involved.
I finally approached her during closing. I mustered up all my courage to explain things to her, hoping for a resolution but instead of a civil conversation, she unleashed a torrent of insults at me. The words cut deep and I could feel my heart sinking. I tried my best to stay composed but inside, I was shattered.

Nsiah's POV
As I walked away, a fire ignited within me. I couldn't understand why he lied and I wasn't ready to talk to him. I submitted my assignment and I was deducted of two points for late submission. The bell rang for closing and I was going to the school's entrance to wait for our driver, my cousins were already there. Kwaku stopped me and when I caught a glimpse of his face again, a storm brewed within me l. The anger and frustration that had been building up suddenly erupted like a volcano. Words, sharp as daggers, flew from my lips each one aimed to pierce his very soul.
As I stood there, the piercing sound of the horn echoed in my ears , urging me to get in the car. I saw a look of disappointment in his eyes. In that moment, my world shattered into million pieces. It felt as if I had lost not a friend but a crush.
Going home, the weight of that realisation settled heavily on my chest and I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of loss.

TWO WEEKS LATER
The examination week was already here and students barely found the time to play around. The atmosphere was charged with tension. It was a promotional year and it will be determined whether the students would go to the next class or remain in the current class.
The examination weeks passed on with a heavy cloud of tension hung in air. Nsiah and Kwaku found themselves avoiding each other like a plague.

SEVERAL WEEKS AFTER VACATION
Some students burdened by the weight of failure, chose to change schools out of shame, leaving behind the familiar halls that once held their dreams. But it wasn't just failed students who bid farewell to the school. Adjoa had to say goodbye too, as her family relocated to a new neighbourhood.
As the new school year began , a wave of new students arrived, Nsiah and her classmates found themselves promoted to Junior High School ( JHS )
Papa Nyan and Nana Akosua were promoted to Primary Five as well . While her little cousin Papa Yaw started Kindergarten.
The tension between Nsiah and Kwaku in their first year of JHS was off the charts. It was like a never-ending storm of avoidance and animosity. Joel on the other hand didn't sit by Nsiah anymore and they weren't that close like before. He distanced himself from Nsiah after the entire assignment mix-up.
Nsiah and Kwaku couldn't even bare to look at each other. It seemed that Nsiah, burdened by the weight of her past actions and hurtful words she had spoken to Kwaku, sought solace in a misguided mechanism trying to hate him.

By the end of the first year, despite being in the same class, they continued to exist in separate worlds, never uttering a single word to each other. Nsiah found herself drawn towards the warmth and friendship of Dyla Mensah and Maame Efua Ocran. On the other hand, Kwaku forged new friendships with Aba Forson and John Thompson.
Despite Nsiah's outward facade of indifference, deep down she couldn't help but be consumed by curiosity about the mysterious connection between Aba and Kwaku. Nsiah couldn't ignore the smiles that Kwaku directed towards Aba most of the time.

JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL- YEAR 2
After a successful completion of the first year of JHS, Nsiah and her classmates were promoted to JHS 2 . As they entered the realm of adolescence, the air crackled with a newfound energy and love blossomed within the classroom walls. Some of her classmates started having feelings for themselves. In this swirling sea of teenage affection we had Micheal Milton Frimpong and Bernice Arthur, Samuel Eshun and Akorfa Monyo. Edward Alex Baidoo and Naa Deveer.
But one couple stood out among the rest; Samuel Eshun and Akorfa Monyo . Their connection was undeniable and they proudly wore the title of the class's most renowned couple.
At the time Nsiah'as desk mate was Samuel Eshun so she was really rooting for the couple and she became a betweener settling all their quarrels.
During break time , the students usually discussed what happened in Grachi the new teenage series shown on 4kidz TV . They would discuss how Grachi and Daniel are meant to be and how evil Matilda was.

After the first term of JHS 2, their English language teacher, Mr. James Baffour transferred to a new school. After bids farewell to the beloved English teacher, the class was introduced to a new teacher who forever changed their perspective on the subject. Miss Yaa Manu Yankey, a teacher who seemed to possessed a magical touch when it came to teaching English. From the very first day, Miss Yankey captivated the hearts and minds of her students. Her explanation of grammar was like music to their ears, making English class absolute delight. Miss Yankey had a special talent for bringing literature to life.
The students were spellbound as she introduced them to the government's newly mandated drama and stories of their study of literature in English, " The Cock Crows".
In the midst of the studying the drama, "The Dilemma Of a Ghost"  by a renowned Ghanaian writer, Ama Ata Aidoo, Miss Yankey took her teaching to a whole new level by having the students read the lines and truly immerse themselves in the story.
After two weeks she decided that the drama should be displayed. Fate seemed to have a mischievous plan up its sleeves, Kwaku and Nsiah were chosen by Miss Yankey to play lead roles of a married couple.
