After a long day of rehearsals, the school auditorium is emptying out. Kweku and Nsiah are left behind, packing up their props and costumes. The atmosphere is still charged with the energy of their performance.

Nsiah: ( sighing as she folds a costume) I can't believe we made it through the rehearsal without any major disasters.

Kweku: ( chuckling ) I was a little worried when you forgot your lines in the first act! But you nailed it in the end.

Nsiah: ( playing) Thanks for reminding me!

There's a pause as they both work silently, the tension from earlier in their relationship hanging in the air.
After weeks of rehearsals. It was finally the day of performing the drama.

The school auditorium, bustling with energy as students prepare to blow the minds of their audience. The stage is set with a backdrop representing a traditional Ghanaian village. Kweku and Nsiah, along with their classmates are gathered around discussing their roles.

Miss Yankey says : Alright, everyone! Let's focus. Today, we're diving into the emotional heart of "The Dilemma of a Ghost" . Remember, it's not just about the lines, it's about the feelings behind them.

Nsiah: I hope I will do justice to Eulalie's character.
Kweku: You've got this. Just channel your understanding into the performance.
Dyla and Maame Efua: ( chiming in) And don't forget we're all in this together.

They gathered around the stage, taking their positions.
The lights dim, and the performance begins.

Nsiah ( in character, addressing Kweku) : Ato , do you not see how the ghost of my past lingers? I am caught between my love for you and the expectations of my family.

Kweku ( in character) : Eulalie, we can create our own future , one that honours both your roots and our love. But you must let go of the fear that binds you.

The school auditorium is alive with applause, cheers and laughter as the final curtain fall on their performance. The stage lights dim but the energy in the room is electric. Kweku and Nsiah stand centre stage, breathless and exhilarated from the performance.

Miss Yankey ( clapping enthusiastically) : That was incredible! You two weee amazing!

Maame Efua: Best performance I've ever seen.
Nsiah and Kweku exchanged glances, their hearts racing from the adrenaline of the show. The roar of approval washes over them, but all they can see is each other.

Nsiah: I can't believe we did it! They loved it!

Kweku : You were incredible out there. I know you could do it!

** As the applause continues, Nsiah feels a warmth spread through her, her gaze locked onto Kweku's. The world around them fades away, and it's just the two of them in that moment.
Nsiah's heart races and she can see the sincerity in his eyes. The applause begins to fade, and she feels a mix of excitement and vulnerability.**

Nsiah: Kweku, I—
Before she can finish, the curtain begins to draw fully and the audience stands in a wave of applause, signaling the end of the show. They are interrupted by the sound of their peers rushing to congratulate them.

Dyla : You two were phenomenal! Seriously, that was such a great show!

Godwina: I'm so proud of you guys!
** Nsiah and Kweku exchange a quick glance, their moment broken but the connection still palpable. They both smile at their friends , but their eyes linger on each other, a silent understanding passing between them.**
** In the midst of the celebration, Kweku and Nsiah can't help but steal glances at each other, their hearts racing, knowing this performance has changed everything **

The last day of school before the break, the atmosphere in the hallways was filled with excitement and chatter. Students were making plans for the weeks ahead. Nsiah said goodbyes to her friends and Kweku as well. Joel and Nsiah grew a bit apart but she tried her best to talk to him from time to time. Kweku on the other hand appeared to be avoiding her days after the play.

***Final year***
The bustling hallway of the school, filled with students chatting and preparing for classes. Nsiah met Papa Nyan and the discussed about how their holidays went. Papa Nyan told her about an outing he had with their father. Nsiah on the other hand travelled to Accra to spend the vacation with Nana Akosua and other siblings together with her auntie.
Few minutes after chatting with her brother Nsiah stands by her locker, watching Kweku as he talks with a group of friends. She takes a deep breath and walks over trying to muster her confidence.

Nsiah: ( smiling) Hey, Kweku ! Got a minute?

Kweku: ( glancing over, slightly surprised) Oh , hey Nsiah . Yeah , what's up?

** The group he was with starts to disperse, leaving them standing together. Nsiah feels a mix of excitement and nervousness **

Nsiah: I was thinking... since we both want to make the most of our final year, maybe we could hang out more? You know, like to study together.

Kweku: ( hesitant) Uh, I don't know... I've got a lot going on with school and extracurriculars.

Nsiah: ( trying to keep her smile) I get that! But we could make it fun. It doesn't have to be all studying.

Kweku: ( looking away) Yeah, but I really need to focus on my own stuff right now.
** Nsiah's smile falters slightly but she pushes through.**

Nsiah: I understand, but I think it could be good for both of us. We had a great time during the play and I thought we could build on that.

Kweku: ( shifting his weight, looking uncomfortable)
The play was different. We are in a different environment, you know?

Nsiah: ( biting her lip) I thought it meant something I thought we had a conversation and become friends again.

**Kweku's expression softens but he remains guarded.**

Kweku: We did, but... I don't want to complicate things.

Nsiah: It doesn't have to be complicated! I just want a chance to be friends.

Kweku looks at her , and for a moment, there's a flicker of something- maybe regret or uncertainty- but he quickly masks it.

Kweku: I appreciate you wanting to be friends, Nsiah. Really, but I think it's better if we keep some distance.

Nsiah: ( hurt but composed) I see. I didn't mean to overstep. I just thought...

Kweku: ( softening slightly) Look , I'm just trying to focus on the exams right now.
* Nsiah nods, trying to hide her disappointment.*

Nsiah: ( forcing a smile) Yeah, I understand.
** Kweku glances away , feeling conflicted Nsiah takes a step back , sensing the finality in his tone.**

Nsiah: Well, if you change your mind , I'm here.

** She walks away, feeling a mix of sadness and determination. Kweku watches her go, a sense of regret washing over him but he remains rooted in his decision.**
