The border officers weren't prepared for their exit- not one bit.

By the time they were prepared, she and Ullr were miles into Washington. Finding them would be impossible, especially since a hunter knows how to cover his tracks.

Now in human form, the Nord easily stepped down a small step and turned to aid his wife.

This wasn't a small step for her, though. Selene looked down and noticed that it was a small cliff her size. Due to Ullr's longer legs, he stepped down like it were man-made stairs. Roots jetted out from the exposed dirt and permafrost.

Noticing he was offering a giant hand, she saw his metal wedding band carved with wrought iron affixed with reindeer antlers on the edges. Old Norse was written on the hard surface.

Grasping it with her hand with her ring, she crouched and barely managed to stumble to the bottom.

"It's like travelling with a dwarf," He teased, his thumb gently rubbing her hand before slowly pulling away.

Brushing off her trousers, she looked up at him and put her hands on her hips. "Oh, really?" she leaned toward him. "Well, I might as well be travelling with a troll!"

Selene walked past him, taking her hands off her hips to brush away small sticks or bushes in her path.

"A troll!" He exclaimed, "As a dwarf... at least I still gave you some dignity," He playfully scoffed and walked after her, "I am not a troll."

Stopping in a small but comfortable clearing, she turned toward him, "But you're big like one."

Washington's Forests had little to no snow. Tall pine trees surrounded them, bushes flourishing under the shadows of the pine trees. The clearing had soft dirt with pebbles and branches scattered throughout.

Halting and folding his arms, he raised a brow, "Am I just as dimwitted?"

Selene tucked her arms behind her back and grinned mischievously, swaying her hips as she turned away, "Maybe..."

Ullr's brows raised as he dropped his arms, "Maybe?!" He parroted in shock, shaking his head as he growled, "Maybe— Take that back."

"Nope." She flashed him a wide, teeth-baring grin.

He scoffed, "If I'm so dimwitted— maybe you should be the one to set up camp instead." He challenged, "Considering I'll just mess it up."

The platinum-haired woman's eyes widened, and she whipped toward him. "No!" she exclaimed, "Okay—I take it back!"

Ullr exploded with laughter, "Oh, do you?" He snickered, "But I thought I was a troll?"

Grabbing his arm, she pouted, "Only big like one..."

He raised a brow questionably.

She groaned and leaned against his chest, "Okay!" She drawled, "You're bigger, stronger, and handsomer than a troll."
