The trio was moving through the upper half of Washington.
Bandages covered Luna's fluffy neck, her fur slightly tinted with her own dried blood.
Older wounds from their last scuffle with Argus had since healed over, her fur covering them up completely. Despite how much they must've hurt, she was a tough cookie and tanked them all.
Instead of following them from a few yards back, the wolf was now following closely at the rear.
Ullr firmly held Selene's hand, their fingers interlocked and wedding bands rubbing against each other. Since they had left Canada, the terrain had not been blanketed by snow, making the trails much more manageable.
She furrowed her brows thoughtfully, "Isn't Washington the capital for a big pack?"
Humming thoughtfully, Ullr nodded, "Yep. Táhæ or something... I don't know."
As they walked, Luna's nose scrunched up, and she looked around warily.
"So... wouldn't there be patrols?" She worriedly looked at her husband, "And wouldn't the border officers have warned them?"
Ullr shrugged, "They're humans- whoever they alerted weren't the right people to alert."
Just then, the snow crunched wildly around them. The bushes ruffled and danced before numerous wolves emerged from the cold shadows. Their eyes were sharp, searing glares into the travellers suspiciously.
They circled them, wolves ranging from black to pale brown, studying their appearances.
It was clear from their behaviour that they deduced Ullr was a threat.
Selene's husband was 7'2, with 350 pounds of complete muscle. Comparatively, Selene was a chubby short-stack.
They seemed similarly concerned about the large white wolf part of their small travelling trio.Ullr snaps, "Lead me to your Alphas!" He'd snarl, "We have important business with them."
Selene fidgeted, noticing the wolves didn't look enthused about the idea.
"This is your Goddess. Treat her with respect." Her husband added.
Their suspicious expressions shifted into confusion and curiosity. The warriors were careful around them, especially considering they were likely enigmas to them.
Somehow, this plan was worse in execution than it was on paper.
