"Next Thursday, we could schedule the DNA test," Lucas mentioned over the phone.

"Okay," I replied, jotting it down.

"I could pick you up, or Alexandro can take you to the hospital," he suggested.

"Don't worry about me; I'll take a taxi or something," I assured him.

"Alright, I have to go now. I need to take care of some business," he said, and I didn't miss the change in his tone.

"Okay. Um, could you say hi to your dad for me?" I added, wondering if it might seem strange.

"Yeah, sure. Bye, Ariella," he said before ending the call.

Alexandro walked into the room with a glass in his hand. "When are you doing the test?" he asked.

"Next Thursday," I responded, extending my legs on the couch and wrapping my arms around them.

He nodded before taking a sip. "What are you drinking?" I asked.

"Some whisky," he replied, taking another sip.

"No, you can't have a sip," he said, grabbing his phone.

"But I didn't even say anything," I whined. "And why can't I take a tiny sip?"

"You are still underage," he said.

"Oh, that's true."

"I need to go now, but if anything is wrong, just call me. I don't want you leaving the house, but if you really need to, make sure to take some bodyguards with you," he said, standing up.

He kissed my head before leaving.

I stretched my body before heading outside to the garden. Today is the hottest day since summer started, so I opted for a dress instead of jeans.

Alexandro showed me the shed and where the garden tools are, so I can do some gardening when he isn't here. He built a greenhouse for me or rather had people build it, so I could grow as many plants as I wanted.

I decided to grow some flowers to add different colors to Alexandro's garden instead of the usual green.

After a few hours, I felt satisfied with the amount of work I had done. I planned to water the plants before going back inside.

As I heard the door open behind me, "I thought you were going to be back late," I said, but as I spun, I dropped the flower pot I was holding.

"You are not Alexandro," I whispered.

"No, I'm not," he said with a somewhat creepy smile. He looked a few years older than me and had a small scar on his head.

"I'm Adriano," he said, extending his hand for me to shake. I gave him a friendly smile but refrained from shaking his hand.
