"Angelo, could you grab them for me?" I asked, pointing to the little bag on the chair.
"Sì, mamma," he replied in Italian before walking over to the chair and grabbing the bag for me. I watched him carefully, making sure he didn't trip over his own feet while holding the bag.
He made his way over to me, holding out the bag. "Thank you, baby," I said, taking it from his hands.
"Now go and get your sister," I smiled. He nodded and ran out of the kitchen.
I cut up some mangoes, apples, and berries, put them into their little containers along with their water and drinks, and then placed everything into the bag.
"Come on, guys, we are going to be late," I called, grabbing the bag and heading to the front door.
I slipped into my shoes and swung the bag over my shoulder. Just then, Angelo walked in, holding the hand of his little sister, Alessia.
They both slipped their feet into their shoes and then grabbed one of my hands. I opened the front door and was greeted by the guards around the house.
They all bowed their heads in respect as I greeted them. I carefully helped Alessia into her seat before buckling up Angelo.
Once they were secure, I got into the driver's seat, started the car, and kept my eyes on the road, while also paying attention to my kids in the backseat.
I put on some music and began to sing softly along.
A smile spread across my face as I glanced at the diamond ring on my hand while putting it on the steer.
"We are almost there guys, "I announced with a smile, turning onto the dirt road.
They clapped their hands in excitement before turning back to their toys.
When I saw the familiar cars I parked my car and helped Angelo and Alessia out of the car. I grabbed their hands and walked further to the entrance.
"Momma, is Papa going to be there?" Angelo asked while tugging on my hand.
"Of course Angel," I smiled.
"Mommy I'm tired," Alessia whined, "pick me up," she pouted lifting her hands to me.
I sighed and picked her up. "Mommy do you want me to hold the bag," Angelico asked I cooed at the fact he always tries to help me.
"No, it's okay sweetie."I smiled.
We arrived at the field where everyone had almost gathered. A large table was spread out, covered with all kinds of food. I scanned the area for Alexandro, and a big smile appeared on my face when I saw him standing next to his mother.
As soon as the kids spotted their dad, they started shouting, "Papa!" Alessia jumped out of my arms, almost falling, but Angelo held her hand as they ran to their dad.
Alexandro turned around, his face lighting up with a bright smile. He knelt, opening his arms wide. Angelo and Alessia ran straight into his embrace, giggling and laughing as their dad showered them with kisses.
He picked up Alessia, who had just turned two and held Angelico's hand, who was two years older. I finally caught up to them.
"Why didn't you call? I would have picked you guys up," Alexandro said.
"No, it's okay. I wanted to drive," I answered.
Rose took the kids to the playground where all the other children were. Alexandro took the bag from my shoulders and wrapped his arm around my waist.
