She laid her head on the the cafeteria's table as her black locks covered her being. She hated herself. She just could not focus when she saw him. She could not speak properly with she saw him. Her companion pat her back in sympathy while she ate on her sandwich.

"Come on." said the other female that had short brown locks that curled outward, "I am sure you could get his attention..." She assured, "Look at him. He is right there with his buddies." she stared, "I honestly do not see what you see.." she softly said with a scowl. She narrowed her eyes slowly trying to see if the male was attractive, but nothing came to mind. She just shook her head.

"Lexy!" her black haired friend exclaimed

"Hailey!" she exclaimed in return

"You are so blind." Said Hailey. Her friend does not see true beauty when it would be handed to her on a silver platter, "Go to your optometrist and ask for another eye test. I think that spectacles are worn out." she remarked while she stared at her friend eating her sandwich. Her friend rolled her eyes at her comment and took no mind to it, but she continued staring at the male that her companion took at liking too. This caused Hailey to stare too. Her eyes forming literal hearts as she gazed at the male with hungry eyes.

The way he smiled made her smile happily as well, "There's just gotta be a way..."

"for what?" her friend questioned, "To not look like a freaking creep? I think you too late for that one." she nodded which led to her receiving a slap on the shoulder.

Hailey wanted to have that confidence she had when she faced Garrett between second and third period. She wanted that. She wanted go up to her little crush and say, 'hey, I am Hailey. What is your name?' she, of course, knew his name, but he does not know that.

She internally groaned at the frustration he caused her, "I have an idea.." Lexy said softly while she drank on her juice.

"What is this master plan.." Hailey responsed while she now ate her sandwich

"Beat him at his own game?"

"What might that be?" Hailey questioned as she turned to her companion that smirked at the male.

"he is the highest in the grade, no?-"

"You are insane!" Hailey exclaimed louder than she thought she would. This caused some heads to turn around to witness the commotion, but soon saw it was nothing to worry about as they turned back to their conversations. However, a certain male did not. He stared at the two females with curiosity laced in his eyes. He sighed with a smile again thinking it might just be the same action that happened in the classroom.

Lexy hushed Hailey, "Look, I know you can do it."

"I am as smart as a rock!" Hailey whisper-yelled, "You really think I could beat Albert Einstein over there??" she questioned as she pointed at her desired male crush.

There was no doubt about it. He was smart and he was attractive which is a bonus honestly. She, however, was as dumb as a board. It was blessing that she was even accepted in this school. She excelled in her arts, but academically she was high in the clouds. She could not beat him and crush her crush.

That would be terrible for the both of them

"You cannot face the guy." she remarked, "So do something else to get his attention. Beat him at the upcoming exams."she conspired. The look in her eyes made Hailey fear her life. She could not do something this huge. She barely passed her subjects last term... The teachers would think she cheated on the exams if she excelled.

" I don't-"

"look at it in this angle..." said Lexy as she placed her arms around Hailey's neck and pulled her closer too her causing their cheeks to touch, "getting good grades will make higher institutions accept your application...."

"that would be bliss.." she softly said while she stared at the ceiling with amazement in her eyes.

"you will finally get your lil Crush, Oliver—"

"don't say his name." Hailey's eyes widened slightly as she covered her friend's mouth, "others might hear and take advantage of that!" she exclaimed softly

Lexy rolled her eyes and took her hand away from her mouth and continued, "Anyway!" she barked, "Then you-know-who... " she said defeated while Hailey nodded with satisfaction, "Will notice you. Congratulate you. Probably want to get to know you more, because you were the one that beat him. He was reigning  for 4 years now... Come on.." she spat, "He needs to be kicked off.."

"But, it's... Oliver..-" Hailey whispered with blush covering her her cheeks when she mentioned his name.

"It is time for a Queen to rise."
