She stared at the poster that was placed on the school wall. She gave it a warm smile. It was vibrant, expensive and exciting. This was the first time she saw this poster around school. The school walls were no place for posters, artwork or any sort of those mentioned. There could only be results place on them. Any other sheets of paper would be discarded or not looked at nor acknowledged at all.Her old school had posters painted all over on the schools walls.
Painted with her artwork.
It was magnificent.
Thus was the reason for her smile.
The headmaster gave in to the auction announcement by spreading the word through a poster. She, however, sighed once she realized that this might be the only poster that hung on the walls, but she knew that the auction will be packed with these rich folk wanting to purchase artwork. Her name was no where on the poster nor on her paintings which she agreed upon. She does not want to be known for her artwork. She solely enjoys what she does and that is enough to fulfill her need for satisfaction.
She lifts her hand to trace the words on the poster. She closed her eyes wanting to rip the poster off the wall and to dash the doors, leaving. This was a big deal for her. Her artwork will be sold to well-known people anonymously. She would stand on the sidelines and watch how rich folk would fight over her artwork. She was assuming that if the auction would be a successful night, tomorrow, headmaster would hang her artwork on the walls of the school.
"I knew you were lonely, but staring at a poster?" said voice behind her. She rolled her eyes slightly as she swiftly turned around to be faced with a smiling Garrett. He seemed to be in a good mood. Does he not have practice? He turned his attention to the poster the smaller female stared at, "Auction?" he questioned as he read the foreign words then suddenly his eyes widened with realization, "Ah, this was auction my parents were talking about. There will be old souvenirs and paintings." he pointed out while smiling at the poster.
He looked down to the female who stared at him, "I am sorry about lunch." she said with guilt in her eyes. She never meant to bail on him. She was assigned to be there, by the teacher. She started to make her way towards her locker whereas Garrett swiftly ripped the poster off the wall and folded it neatly as he placed it in his school pants. With this he followed the smaller female like a lost puppy looking for their owner. He noticed the stains were still situated in the same region on her skirt and jacket. He furrowed his brows wondering why she had not changed it for a new pair or... washed it, but knowing the paints stained clothing with no way of it coming off.. with this realization...
it confused him
He leaned against a locker while he waited for her to gather her things, "I-..." he thought of a quick way to smear his feelings, "It is okay. I actually had extra practice, sorry for not telling you..." He nodded his head, "Now, I'm completely yours for the taking." he softly said with a tinted rosy cheeks. She only chuckled which caused the male to feel even more timid and embarrassed. He has known her since elementary school till half middle school that was when he had to enroll into a other school. A prep school.
Hailey stuffed her bags with her books she never thought she would be using, "That is great actually-"
"how come!" his voice cracked as he was trying to hold in the sudden anger that started to build up.
Does she prefer Oliver's assistance over his?
She only shook her head and giggled, "I... Umm..." she started while she closed her locker door, "The teacher assigned Oliver to help me..." she blushed at just the mention of his name which caused Garrett to clench his jaw, "... I do not think that it will work out though." she shook her head once more, trying to get rid of the thoughts of Oliver. Garrett slightly smiled at this, "I will not concentrate with him..." she admitted.
One point goes to Garrett. He cheered in his head, but sadly sighed knowing she had feelings for him.
"Could you continue helping me?" she asked him.
"Of course, I will." he nodded with a smile, "That is if you will help me with art." he threatened her, "I actually have an art project coming up soon. That counts seventy-five percent of my grade.."
She smiled brightly, "I will definitely help you achieve that full percentage" she gave him a wink, causing the male to go in overdrive, "I actually wanted to ask you something." she timidly announced to the taller male that hummed in response, "Would..." she could not believe that she would be asking this question. She never has done this before. She was too scared to be judged and be pitied for her circumstances... She never really had friends to hang out with, but art was her friend and that helped her through her tough times and nice times... Alone
, "... Come over to help me?" she asked him.
He instead chuckled at her request, "Of course, silly." he ruffled her hair and stated walking to the school's exit..
