Chapter 18 - Goodbye

The wheel rises up into the plane, allowing the two heroes to safely climb further into the plane. They carefully make their way up to a catwalk, looking around the plane. The two make their way further down, finding the bombs. Rose looks to her left, inhaling a sharp breath, tapping Steve's arm. The man looks to where Rose is and finds the bomb, labeled New York. Incoming footsteps are heard, catching Steve and Rose's attention. Sneaking up to a ledge, Steve swings down knocking a soldier off the catwalk. The three remaining soldiers look over to Steve. One pulls out a knife charging at Steve as the other two turn to make their way to the bombs. Rose jumps onto the catwalk, knocking back a man. The last one swings at her, missing but he sweeps their feet out from underneath her.

Steve grabs the mans arm, taking the knife from him. He flings the knife at the man standing over Rose, hitting him in the back. Rose stands up, running over to a panel, as a soldier gets ready to pilot one of the bombs. Pressing a button and pulling down a lever, watching the plane floor open as the bomb fall out of the plane with the soldier following close behind. Two soldiers come out from nowhwere, Rose leaning back when one swings at her. Kneeing him, Rose grabs the man hauling him over the railing and out the opening.

The last soldier jumps into the piolt seat of the New York bomb. Dropping out of the plane, Steve quickly runs over and jumps on the bomb leaving with it. Steve holds onto the small aircraft, as the soldier truns and spins it attemtping to shake Steve off. Plunging the bomb down, Steve slowly slides down but the soldier redirects it to a steep incline. Sliding towards the back of the plane, Steve grabs ahold of the fin avoiding the propellers. Steve pushes himself forward, pulling on a lever and opening the bombs hatch, quickly pulling the ejection pin and sending the soldier up into the air.

Climbing into the seat, Steve directs the bomb back to the larger plane. Red Skull looks out his window, watching one of his bombs fly in front of him. Flipping two switches, he begins firing at Steve, only skimming the fin of the bomb. Steve loops around the plane heading straight for the back of it and crashing into where the bombs once were.

Meanwhile Rose walks around, spotting two more soldiers on board, whispering to herself, "how many stowaways are there?" Silently walking on the catwalk, she soundlessly forms a katana sword. "Excuse me?" Both men turn to her, their hands on their guns, but Rose is quicker, slicing through their necks. Walking further she finally finds Steve hoping out of the bomb. "Steve."

Walking over to her, she tightly embraces with him doing the same. Breaking apart, Steve looks to her, "any luck finding Schmidt?"

"No, I've been busy with the soldiers who didn't fight us," Rose admits. "C'mon."

They walk away from the New York bomb, Steve grabbing his discarded shield along the way. Cautiously making their way to the cockpit, the two glance around for Schmidt. Steve steps past the power chamber, looking up the pilot seat, but swiftly turns around when Red Skull powers up his gun. Blocking the shot with his shield, the beam of blue energy richoets off, and breaks the glass window.

"You two don't give do you?" Red Skulls shouts out to them over the rushing wind.

"Nope," the two say in unison, Steve charging towards Red Skull. The man fires his gun, two more beams richoets off the shield as Rose runs around the chamber. Attacking him from the side, Rose knocks the gun away allowing Steve to knock Schmidt back. Bouncing forward, Schmidt pushes Rose away, catching Steve's next punch and forcing the man to the ground. Kicking Steve in the stomach, Schmidt quickly  turns to Rose punching her square in the jaw. Pivoting back to Steve, Schmidt grabs his shoulders pulling him up to stand. Taking the open opportunity, Steve rams his shoulder into Schimdt, the men tumbling into a railing.

Rose turns to the two, kicking Schmidt's knee and sweeping his feet out from under him. Falling to the ground, Schimdt takes Steve down with him. Rolling away just in time not to get squashed, Rose jumps up and quickly grabs the gun freezing it completely. Tossing it away, Rose tuns back to the men, side stepping them. As Steve pulls Schimdt into a choke hold, the red skinned man elbows the american's stomach allowing him to step out of reach.
