The Dreamers

46: The Sea

The two walked in. It was still open, but the employee was fast asleep at the counter. Pyro tossed a one-hundred on the sleeping guy.

"This should probably cover two guest passes." He followed Serena, who was walking into the room with a lot of fish.

She gasped and looked like an excited child looking at all the fish, "Pyro! Have you ever seen anything like it." She looked at the turtles and stingrays that swam in the tank with the fish.

He chuckled, "I assume you've never been to an aquarium before?"

She nodded, "I've seen so many pictures of them, but my life has always been really busy."

"Tell me about it." He agreed. The two of them walked along the long tank. The room was dark. The blue water illuminated the room.

"Who were those guys you were talking to?"

"Huh? Oh, them." She stopped looking at the fish, "They seem to be 1st grades that escaped the pit when you did."

"I see, names? I could barely make out their faces from where I was."

"Vladimir and Melchoir."

"Oh my god." He facepalmed, "Those two are undeniably annoying."

She chuckled, "They used a stone like the nightmare stone to get through the veil. They said if we can cause damage to Gianna, they'll give it to us."

"Okay," Pyro responded skeptically, "We have to be careful, though. The whole reason they got thrown in the pit in the first place was from deceiving the boss."

She nodded as she turned back to look at the fish. He smiled as he looked at them with her.

"Serena."

"Hm?"

"You became a dreamer less than a year ago."

"That's right.."

"I've been one since I was like - 10. I forgot what it's like to dream."

Serena watched a big fish move across the glass, "Well, dreams are lovely. I always dreamed about pretty places like flower fields, the city at nighttime. But sometimes I'd get really bad nightmares. So, being a dreamer keeps me from having nightmares, which is nice."

"I see," They kept walking as he talked, "I've never dreamed before, but I have seen things while I slept."

"What do you see?"

"People, people who were significant in my mind during that day."

"Oh?"

"Mhm, it would be nice to dream," he looked at her, "Byt I feel like if I tried, all I would dream about is you."

She blushed a little as she looked at the other way. He smiled sweetly as they walked to the next room. It was a tunnel made of glass. They could see fish from all over the place.

There were sofas in the middle point of the tunnel. Serena sat down.

"Are you okay?" He asked a little concerned.

"Just my feet hurt from the heels," she said quietly. He kneeled down as he held her foot and un-buckled her shoes.

"I can imagine. The heels are at least four inches." He massaged her foot that had marks from the shoes. He took off both her heels as he looked at her.

"Are you cold?" He looked at her in the strapless top and short skirt.

"I-I am.." she said, finally admitting it.
