Meanwhile
"Ugh, how long do we have to keep waiting?" Vladmir asked, leaning against the wall.
"Patience bother; as soon as I sense Serena's bloodlust, we go." Melchoir focused his energy.
"What's going on with her now?"
"I can feel her heartbeat. It plays a symphony of fear."
Vladmir groaned, "I still can't believe we are on the side of our enemies. We may admire Pyro, but he's anything but our friend. Damion and Giddion are even worse. We serve Gianna, remember?"
Melchoir chuckled, "We serve nobody. Everything we do is for our own self gain, brother. We want to go to the Dream Forrest, but it's no fun if we go alone. Then, we will take over this city as soon as Gianna is out of the way."
Vladmir sighed, "Why must we wait so long?"
"It's not so bad. We have our doll and her elegant friend."
Vladmir chuckled deeply, "Oh I hope that beautiful robin doesn't have a Pyro of her own."
Melchoir smirked, and then he froze. He felt Serena's heart speed up, her bloodlust oozing like a deadly poison.
"Brother, we need to go; NOW."
The two started running, with no clue of the mess they would walk into.
~~~
"Oh, come on, look at me." Gianna smacked Serena across the face.
"You're sick. You know that.." Serena's voice was breaking. She could hardly keep herself awake. Her body was weak; moments from reaching its limit.
Gianna giggled softly, "I'm merely getting the revenge I deserve after the hell I was put through. All I ever wanted was the best; and if I have to kill people to get that, is that bad?"
Serena's breath shuddered, "If you spare me and Pyro, we'll leave. This city will be yours, and I'll leave you to rule."
She didn't like the deal she was striking with Gianna, but she was all out of ideas.
"Oh, Serena, this barrier will only spread as I get stronger. You'll never escape no matter how far you go."
Serena felt the cold air low against her wound. She winced; the pain hard to bear. Tears formed in her eyes. This was hell.
Then, the future she dreaded came true.
He heart stopped as she heard footsteps from the tunnel of the subway. No, no, no, no, no.
She looked at the men blocking the door; strapped, armed, and ready.
"Seren-" a voice; a voice she loved, was interrupted by the sound of a knife stabbing the skin. She looked as she saw Pyro with a knife, piercing his vitals. She screamed as his body collapsed.
"ANTONIO!" Her scream echoed the subway. The whole city could hear it.
Gianna laughed maniacally as she walked to his body on the ground, unaware that it was only his clone.
The clone is an excat replica of Pyro; organs and all. It reflected the reality that imaginary friends are seen as real through the eyes of the imaginer.
"Pyro, you don't look good." She smirked as he lifted his chin as blood dripped from his face.
"If you're here, I'm guessing you killed my son. Don't worry about it; he had it coming." She pulled the knife out of his chest; the only thing holding him together.
Blood spilled out of him.
"NOOOOOO! PYRO, PYRO!" Serena cried. Her eyes were red, and her face was soaked with tears as the two men held her arms still. She sobbed uncontrollably as she looked at Pyro's dead body.
She really thought the man she loved had been murdered; right before her eyes.
"YOU PHSYCOPATH! GIANNA, I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!"
Gianna cackled, "You're so passionate when you mad, Serena. How would you feel if I did this," she giggled as she traced his neck with a knife.
"STOP IT! STOP IT NOW!"
Gianna smirked, "What a shame. You never truly got to have a future with him. He used to talk about you all the time," she chuckled as she stabbed his chest again with her knife, "If only he took my side. I would've had to kill him."
Serena couldn't listen to the words she was saying. She could only cry as she stared into Pyro's dead eyes. She screamed as Gianna stabbed his chest; time after time.
"GIANNA STOP! STOP IT NOW!" Serena screamed on the verge of losing her voice. She coughed as she felt her wounds sting.
Gianna looked at her, "God, I almost feel bad for you. That must be such painful injuries," She pulled the knife out of Pyro's chest as she walked closer to Serena.
Serena was not about to be murdered by Gianna. She may have been wounded, but she was never giving up.
She focused on the little dream energy she had left to deliver it through her body and into the men holding her. In an instant, they were zapped with dream energy as they fell to the ground unconscious.
"What the.... how the hell did you do that!?" Gianna looked at Serena as her weak body fell to the ground. Gianna looked at Serena, afraid. That ability to transfer dream energy through solid objects just by touching.
Her breath shuddered. She knew Serena must be way stronger than she's letting on.
"Allow me to be the one to put you out of you misery, Serena." Gianna raised the blade above Serena's head, "It's nothing personal."
Serena felt a spark of dream energy inside her. She surged it through the ground and through Gianna.
She bit her tongue as she heard Gianna's scream and the blade hitting the subway floor.
Gianna wailed like the nightmares, feeling unbearable pain pump through her veins.
"Serena! Stop that! STOP IT NOW!"
Serena kept using the ability as Gianna suffered. Serena picked up the blade on the ground. She walked over and stabbed Gianna in the side.
"GAHHHHHHH!!! DAMIT, THAT REALLY HURT!!"
Serena looked at Gianna with weak and crazy eyes, "I'll be back, and when I am. I'm going to give you a REAL punishment."
Serena, feeling as if she was about to pass out, stopped using her ability and ran.
Gianna passed out on the ground and screamed, "GUARDS, GET HER!!"
The men guarding the subway ran after Serena. She ran, but her legs felt as if they were about to give out. She felt tears fall down her face. Pyro was dead; she was all alone now.
"Serena!" She heard voices from a distance run to her. The voices were Vladmir and Melchoir.
Vladmir picked up Serena, who looked like she couldn't take another step. She sobbed as she looked at the two of them.
"T-They, they killed Pyro!" She sobbed. Vladmir stroked her hair as Melchoir and him started running to the barrier.
Melchoir and Vladimir decided to go to a hidden part where the barrier was, so it would be harder to detect where they escaped in case Gianna sent any guards after them.
When they use the stone, it will bring the barrier down for five seconds. Enough time to get out before any nightmares do.
"Did you leave a mark on Gianna?" Vladmir ran in the rain with Serena's frail body in his arms.
"I-I managed to stab her in the hip; that's all."
He smiled sweetly, "Good girl. She is too weak to stop us from leaving now. We'll avenge Pyro; I promise."
~~~
The three arrived at the location they would escape. Melchoir and Vladmir groaned as they saw Damion blocking their way.
"I'm coming with you. And you can't stop me."
